Iris Adult Family Home

I'd say 5 across the board. My mom feels safe, well cared for, likes the food, compliments the staff and the hiring choices. I've found everyone really kind, engaged and helpful.

Really happy with Orchid AFH. The staff is great! My mom feels comfortable and well cared for and I really appreciate the communication and how included I feel. Plus my dogs get visit sometimes.

The staff is very caring and careful. The phone system is troublesome sometimes. No one answers and no return call in a timely manner.

[name removed]is an extremely valuable resource to understand the various options there are for senior care and is fully transparent about the advantages of each type of placement. Anyone who is seeking guidance would benefit from consulting with her.

It was homey, small and quiet, had a room with a big window for Mom to look out and a nice view out the back. Most staff is foreign so sometimes hard to understand. Very caring though.

Staff are very kind and helpful. They have someone onsite 24/7. Home is beautiful and well kept.

The staff was very helpful and friendly, but we had to go there and help with lifting/moving my dad every couple of days, since only one staff member was usually there at a time. It was hard for them to prepare/clean up meals when my dad needed so much one on one help. My dad passed away after one month in the home, the one month cost almost $[removed] after fees.

We moved my dad into the Orchid at the beginning of the year. He has been very difficult and combative, but the care he has received is exemplary. They have worked with us and with his doctors to give him the best care possible. The staff are compassionate and caring and I am very glad we chose the Orchid for his memory care.

What a beautiful home. A friend sent us information on this home so we added it to our list of homes to tour and this place definitely stood out among them all. It’s beautiful, nice clean rooms, residents seemed happy, and staff was very pleasant! We came in just after lunch and the food smelled delicious! After a great visit with their nurse for an assessment we moved our Mother in and so far she’s happy with the move!

This is a wonderful care home and staff. Highly reccomended. They treated my dad with care, love and respect. If you are looking for a safe, caring and loving enviroment for your family, this is it! The home is upscale with nice ammenties, is created to be a professonial and caring and helpful.

The caregivers there are amazing. But there is only one caregiver there at a time, and they do everything, making meals, patient hygiene, patient care, laundry, housekeeping, putting out fires (metaphor) constantly because most the residents have dementia. There is no time for the caregivers to do activities. I feel like activities might be the one thing that's lacking. I do wish they would hire a second person on for activities and some help during the week. It got to be a bit overwhelming at times for a lone caregiver. I would 110% recommend this facility. They are better than family

The food was good. They were very caring and accepting. They were very attentive towards my loved ones needs. I would recommend to other families.

It has been a very good experience for our family so far at Iris Adult Family Home. They have a great staff and I really like the facility itself. My only concern is my loved one is not very social and does not participate in activities -but that is no fault of theirs. I would recommend them to others looking.

We recently toured Iris Adult Family Home, and added our Mother to their waitlist. Their residents were full of smiles, and the food smelled so delicious!

Iris Adult Care Home is Wonderful! From the Loving and Attentive Care Staff to the Clean and Beautifully thought out overall layout of the home! The food is great too! After touring several Adult Care Homes this was an easy choice for our Family! We also liked the fact that it is near the Hospital!!

When mom first moved in there were staffing issues. It took a full month to get them settled. During that time daily jobs such as trash, bedding, toilet cleaning, and wash did not get done so I had to step in for mom's room care. There were no problems with meds except for not always getting them in a timely manner. There were issues such as a broken shower head, air vent problems, tv issues, and yard work that I had to address with the owner, [name removed]. He took care of them immediately. Mom moved in April and by mid-June she was settled and the house had a solid routine and consistent staff. The staff are wonderful! They have worked at getting to know and anticipate mom's needs. Her memory prevents her from understanding why she is here, where her family is, and why she can't go home. Sundowners episodes are handled lovingly. We pay a small premium so she can have a large room with en-suite bathroom and shower. The other residents are all characters and mom has enjoyed getting to know them. Iris allows pets so there is a house cat that has taken to mom and spends days with her. One resident has a small, sweet dog that she shares with mom during room visits. The food is well-prepared and tasty. At first it was being chopped into mush so mom wouldn't eat it. She would ask for toast and fruit instead. Once we got them to serve her food whole on a regular plate (not bowl) and let her do her own cutting, she started eating regularly. I would give Iris House a 5, but I have yet to see organized enrichment activities. A tech comes monthly to take care of manicures and pedicures. A harpist came once to play for the residents. Mostly residents watch tv. Also, no chaplain or teacher comes in on Sundays for Bible study so I've been doing it with mom. A new cedar fence has been installed and it's lovely. The rest of the yard is waiting on landscapers. Iris House is in a nice, quiet, well-maintained neighborhood. It's close to medical buildings, hospital, shopping, and dining services. I hope this gives you a clear picture of our experience. We are happy to have mom here and we are pleased with our choice and accommodations.

The staff was for the most part very good to my mom. I chose that facility because of the 24 hour awake staff and it was close to where I live. There was an employee that started towards the end of Moms life that didn't speak very good English so was hard for her to understand. Other than that she was happy there and liked the other tenants.

Staff and house owner are friendly and caring. I think they need to provide more activities such as walking or other exercises.

It's was hard to put my Husband in an Adult Home, but we found a good one. [Name removed] just opened his first Home Care Facility and we think he is doing a great job. Husband says "he loves it there" and really likes having his own room, surrounded by his personal items and pictures. The food is good and plentiful. He thinks the caregivers are great and they check on him often to see if he needs anything. I go almost every day and always find the residents and caregivers happy. This is [name removed] first care facility and we are all learning along with each other and I really respect him for the job he is doing. I do wish they had activities, i.e. chair exercises, etc. Hubby does not come out of his room except to eat at the table with the other residents. He is not a joiner and very quiet, but perhaps if they had a joint activity he might. I would recommend this home to any one looking to place a love one.
