Initially, I liked how attentive & communicative the upper management was in welcoming us/my mother to their community. Since then, they've continued to keep us informed of my mother's well-being and her...

I really liked this community when we toured it, in fact, it was my first choice. The community was very clean and modern looking. The staff was wonderful very professional and nice. However, there were just a couple of small things that I didn't think would be a good fit for my dad. First, when we were walking around there were no places to sit in the hallway in case a resident needed to sit for a moment or two. Then in the dining hall, they had assigned seating for dinner. I didn't think dad would like that very much.

Their onboarding of new Memory Care residents needs improvement. There needs to be a detailed, sit down orientation with families admitting their loved ones so all required services are explained in detail such as laundry services, bedtimes, medication management, etc. We did not have this sit down and have needed to ask when my mother was last bathed, had her hair washed, when her laundry was last laundered, etc. We shouldn't have to ask these questions. We should already know what the plan is. All of this should've been taken care of when the lease contract was signed and it was not. We picked this community 1) due to the tour we had and liked what we saw overall, 2) the newness of the facility including the large sized rooms and hallways, 3) more importantly that they are a spend down community and not private funds only, and 4) a family recommendation.

Ralston was under constructed, unprofessional and seemed disorganized when we toured the community. We decided to go with another community during the tour process.
They do a fairly good job and they are doing the best can during COVID times to protect the residents and keep them safe. All the residents have been tested. We chose this community because it seemed like the best fit for my mom. I think that are doing the best they can for my mom. The food is okay , but it was better in the assisted living than in the memory care. The activities are very good during the week but on the weekends there is very little to do. I would recommend it this community to other families. I am a little disappointed that they couldn't do anything with her hair being there's no beautician right now,

[Removed] gave me a tour and was very informative. Sommerset is in a great community, very clean, staff was friendly. There is a one bedroom currently available. This floor plan is not open and it's very dark inside. Also the residents have assigned seating at meal time. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I don't believe this is a good fit for mom.

I moved into Ralston Creek about a month ago, and I’m unfortunate not enjoying it very much. The rooms themselves are large and the place is generally clean. I do think that the housekeeping needs to vacuum better. I have not seen them clean the carpets in the hallways since I moved in. I don’t feel that the caregivers are very well trained, and they generally seem incompetent. The chef uses too much salt, sauces and gravies cover every dish, and portion sizes are too small. They do have activities like movies in the afternoons, classes nearly every day, bowling every week, and church on weekends, but overall, it hasn’t been a great stay.

My mother stayed here till the end. They feed them very good food but that was the best of it! She had a room to herself, a two bed one bath with a shower. It was nice she didn't have a roomate. HOWEVER, they would help her out of bed, get to the dinning room to eat, then move her to a chair and that is where she stayed...ALL DAY! She needed a walker but couldn't get far by herself without falling, so they would move her walker out of reach. She fell out of bed many times and they had to call the fire dept to come get her off the floor, which we had to pay for. They'd tell her "it's shower time", she'd say no, that was it, NO Shower! She'd go a week without a shower unless one of us MADE them give her one while we were there visiting! They did have activites like kicking a ball around, playing cards, drawing and sitting in front of the TV watching old movies. It was over prices for a daycare center! She went down hill fast!
