When I moved my mother in in 2019 this was an excellent facility. The memory support program was attractive, particularly the focus on cognitively stimulating activities and the freedom to participate in the regular assisted living program. The staff were dedicated to providing the best possible home for the residents. Particularly essential was the memory care activities director: she cared deeply, always providing creative activities and emotional support. I don't know how we would have survived the Covid lockdown without her; despite her own cancer treatment she was there nearly everyday, providing support and keeping residents and families connected. With new management much has changed. Most of the staff that I knew initially have left. Memory support residents are not permitted out of their specific area. The number of staff, the food and many other things have changed for the worse. I am grateful that my mother passed away before most of these changes.

We did not have a good experience overall. Our loved one went into assisted living, and on his first day there, they diagnosed him with sun downing (which we had no idea about). So he had to move to memory care. They lost all his clothes, so we had to keep bring him more. His room was nice with a nice view, but it always smelled and wasn't cleaned thoroughly. Otherwise it was really a nice facility and pretty new, so the common areas were clean and new. They had some good employees. The food was pretty good, but in memory care they didn't offer choices since that can be hard for people with dementia to communicate. They had activities that a lot of people were participating in. But we just found the services in memory care to be lacking, and it ended up not being a good transition for him. We ended up moving him to another memory care facility where he was able to thrive.

I’m a dog walker & have a client whose dog I walk at least 2x a week. The family was told to rehome the dog as she was barking at night. The family & caretakers of the woman have tried to find a compromise but the director does not want to hear it. I talked to [name removed] at the front desk & she suggested the dog stay in her office at night b/c nobody would be able to hear her & she’d have a bark collar on that the resident kept trying to take off at night. The upper mgmt doesn’t care. I understand the complaints from the neighbors but I would’ve done anything to keep them together. The resident is declining & once her dog is taken away, her family & aides will have to watch her die slowly of pain & heartache & they won’t be able to do anything about it. These people so blatantly only care about convenience, instead of doing the right thing even when it’s hard. & holy $$$!!!! I just despise this place now & I will never walk here again. This resident’s inevitable decline is on your hands.

absolutely horrible place to live. they dont accommodate for living needs. upper management is beyond rude and unwilling to help with simple requests. if im spending 3500+ here i expect a decent place to live . DO NOT LIVE HERE

When my mother first moved into Heritage Oaks she loved it. The food has never been good. Her biggest complaint is the food is never hot. The new director has come in and changed the activities and most of the people are not happy. I heard second hand he said he didn’t care. I was leaving the other day and a women came in with her walker and said “back to hell”. How sad! I was also told he hired his wife who is an Interior Decorator, this place is beautiful.

Under staffed and lack of caring in the last couple of years. Most of the time I visit they don't even realize I have been there. They only have a few aids to care for all the rooms. Not a place I can recommend.

We did not have a good situation, my loved one got in here and they went into covid lockdown. They were understaffed and it affected their quality of food tremendously. I would tell others to understand and manage your expectations as to the medical supervision that is provided. If your loved one is going to need a lot of attention and hands on care, this would not be a good fit for them. When I look back, it was a bad experience but it was not fully their fault.

This community was not the right setting for my loved one. I was put off at my interview because there was someone that was in nursing who was not supposed to be in the interview and she came in and took over the entire conversation. She did not provide care and I did not know her purpose.

The friendliness of the staff members really varied depending on who you spoke with, we did have a couple of really good nurses but the bad just outweighed the good. The Magnolia is a very nice looking community, they promises you the moon and the stars but follow through with nothing. We could not rate our experience with the memory care side any lower. They do not have adequate staffing, adequate care and there is major medical mismanagement going on. There is a total lack of cleanliness. Night times in particular none of the residents are taken care of. We pulled out loved one out in fear they would pass away there. Everything was swept under the rug, they did not care about our family. The activities included watching recordings on the television. Our loved one slept all during the day, which we believe was due to the medication. They never had a care plan for our loved one, and it was just a bad experience.

The staff seems friendly at first. Then we visited our mom different times during the day and you would start seeing how horrible they are. They put on a friendly face when family/visitors are around but when they don't see you its a different story. I visited there multiple times in the past 3 months during different hours. They ignore residents who are trying to get their attention. If your family member on the memory care unit they want to drug them up. They stay slouched over in a chair. Thank God we had our mom removed from this place. If you are not going to provide excellent care and service, shut down your business and do something else. For those with loved ones, choose carefully and choose elsewhere. By the way our Mom is back to being alert and doing much better.

My Sister-In-Law was in Elmcroft for nearly 22 months. After paying for [date removed] we were called on April 2nd and told to get her out of the facility. We moved her on [date removed]. The reason we were given, "She needs to be in Memory Care". Please Note: Elmcroft advertises they are a Memory Care Facility. They tried to cheat her out of an extra day's cost. It took nearly a month to get all of her refund. Laundry service was included in the monthly price. We had to do her laundry for her since they weren't keeping up with the laundry. There were full bags of urine soaked clothes in her room. The Patient needed to be checked on and taken to the bathroom in a more timely manner. Most of the times we visited her she was sitting in urine soaked clothes.

We took our loved one out because we did not think she was receiving good care. We picked her up one day to go to the doctor and we found a 2-inch thick gash on her leg. She also was very hard of hearing so we bought ear plugs for her to plug into the TV so she could hear. When we went to the community one day, we realized the ear plugs were in the medicine cabinet. They were never given to our loved one.

91 yo mother was placed in Elmcroft [date removed] after spending a month rehab. Her admitting orders specified she dementia. She didn't recognize me when I visited & believed rehab was trying to kill her (documented). Fast forward. Elmcroft did not believe she had dementia. Her phone didn't work because she did not take it out of the box. Stories go on. Mother disowned and me revoked my POA with aid of someone. While at Elmcroft, she spent over $50K: giving $15K away and buying $36K of jewelry. I spent ~ $180K for her care. [name removed] passed and I was informed of this by a form bank letter. Elmcroft stated it is a family matter and that my Mother did not want any info about her relayed to me. They kept taking my money though. I spoke with Elmcroft and they said they were following [name removed] wishes and i can get a lawyer. Meanwhile her bank accounts have been wiped out and jewelry is gone. Tell me, who benefitted from this? I might add this all occurred during pandemic lockdown. RIP.

My grandmother had lived here in a condo then assisted living for over 15 years when my dad became sick and needed memory care. They became cold when they found out his needs and then just never got back to us, even though we called and left messages three times.

The food at Northgate Park was absolutely horrible, half the time I did not know what I was eating and it was prepared poorly. My sister ended up bringing me TV dinners so I could eat. Some of the staff members are friendly, but the director here is very nasty. The sinks in the rooms are not even big enough to fit a plate in there and the refrigerators are very small. Overall, I did not have a good experience here and would not recommend it.

We have removed our mother from Prestige. When I would notify them that I was picking her up and ask for her wheelchair, they would never have it. We would have to wait while they went back to her room and got it. This happened at least 3x. They complained she turned the TV up too loud. We purchased bluetooth headphones. When we took her out, they had never installed them (over a month later) they were in the medication room. We couldn't due to coronavirus. When I took her to therapy and she was given exercises to do, they couldn't even remind her to do them 2x/day. I had to call her and walk her thru them. Final straw was taking her to a Dr. appt. She had a wound on her leg about 2" long, probably from scratching. Obviously no one had noticed and it was open and red. When we took her back I brought some Cortisone cream. They couldn't even put OTC on without a Dr. approval. I told them if they didn't have it by 5 that day I was coming in to do it before infection set in. Sorry we did this at least in the time of Covid. Staff seemed friendly during the week, but weekend staff seemed pretty rude when we took items over to be delivered to her. Also seemed to have a big turnover of staff which might explain lack of communication. When, at one point I had called and my message never got passed on, I recommend a white board & even the staff member said that might be helpful.

My mother was a resident at Town Village for six years. Unfortunately, she recently had to move to assisted living. Town Village represents to their tenant's that if they are absent from the facility for 5 days they will receive a meal credit on their billing statement. However, they have failed and refused to abide by this policy. They also bill for meal delivery services in a way that is confusing and difficult, if not impossible to dispute. It appears they care more about their bottom line than they do about their tenants. If you care about your loved one I would advise you to proceed with great caution if you are considering Town Village, Vestavia Hills. Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing.

I have not spoken with my mother since she has been put in the memory care facility at Celebration Village in Acworth. This was almost 3 months ago. I live in Salt Lake City and when I call, over and over again, the staff at Celebration Village pretend to try and connect me to my Mother. I know this because one time I heard one of the nurses say to [name removed] the front desk person there, "They don't want me talking to her." Who doesn't want my mother talking to me? My brother says she is desperate to leave and so he doesn't visit her, despite living near the facility, because my Mother says he is the "only one who can get her out of this place." My brother also explained they don't give her access to a phone because she would call her lawyer. He said if I want to do something about this or find out how she is doing I should hop on a plane and find out. I think I have received several phone calls from celebration from an "Unknown Number" but the phone calls are silent and are not connecting. Are they not allowing my Mother to call me despite her knowing my phone number and trying to reach out? My Mother doesn't have the agency to leave without a direct relative going there and escorting her out, evidently. I simply want to have access to video chat with my Mother. I would like to know how she is doing and my 10 year old daughter misses her Grandmother. The last time we FaceTimed was on Mother's Day and my mother completely recognized my 10 year old daughter and me without prompting or reminding.

Anyone considering purchasing a cottage at Dirigo Pines should know that you must pay cash and, while the investment is substantial, you will not be allowed to tap into it. You cannot use this asset to raise capital. We were told otherwise and are currently being held hostage with no recourse other than to sell our home which is proving to be extremely difficult.
