Father was sent here for rehab. On the first day he got here I had to go look for some one to give him his meds and to set up his vac system. Then he never got dinner. We had to got out and get him food . Any time he needed a nurse they all would be standing around talking and would tell my family they would be right there . 1 1/2 hr later they would show up and acted like he was asking for there first born .

Not a place for someone need help on living.

My mother was placed here for therapy after a fall. She stayed for two weeks before being discharged to home. After ten days, I was given the admission packet of information regarding her stay. She never received a menu to select her own meals, despite two separate requests. I made sure to take her laundry home to wash myself, rather than deal with lost clothing. When I took her to a doctor appointment, no one bothered to get a wheelchair to transport her to my car. I had to go downstairs to the lobby and borrow one. Most of the time, she was left to do her own care. Her room mate did not fare much better. Having worked in a nursing home thirty years ago, I can say that the care has not improved over the years. In fact, the ratio of caregivers to patients is worse than it was then. I do not recommend this facility for rehab. Look elsewhere.

Terrible due to poor food quality and preparation. Help was very pleasant but facility is severely understaffed. Fee of $11,000 a month does not coincide with the care or end results. 13 months in rehab and little or no improvement. Patient is a mentally sharp 80 year old and may do better in another facility

I was there 48 hrs after a hip replacement. it took 2 hrs for anyone to show up. Then the first night I got NOOO medications and ended up in severe pain which took 24 hours to recover from. The food is white bread and lots of carbohydrates. For the first 2 days they did not have a record of me so did not bring me food unless I called and asked for it then said that they had no food orders for me. It was all a terrible mess. I wonder how older people who are not able to advocate for themselves survive there. I would not recommend this place for anyone. N

I knew when they gave me the sale offer of a reduced price that it was a bad idea. I toured many places before this one and they didn't appear as clean, didn't have that friendly, organized feeling like the other places. The only reason I ended up there was due to a reduced price that they offered after they found out I was taking my parent somewhere else. I was so mad that they played with my emotions and desperate need for mom. It's a horrible way to play with people's lives when they are stressed and desperate about a parent's safety. The place is unorganized, dirty, short staffed, no communication between the workers, and the updates of your loved one are just words to appease you. The update is always incorrect, made up or full of misinformation. That I have experienced that several times. Constantly missing her clothing, and her bedding disappeared and nobody was concerned enough to find it. You pay so much money and you don't even see where it's going. The caregivers aren't happy, the turnover is so high. it's not a good environment for anybody's parent. I went from being stressed about my mom safety at home to a different kind of stress about her well being at Chestnut Ridge. I am desperately trying to find another location for my mother. I need peace of mind, I do not get that at Chestnut Ridge. I am not the only family member that Feels this way.

Toured this community with my Brother. This community says that it is in Wallingford, FIRST LIE. It's in Chester. The outside of the building, trash is blowing all over the parking lot (gloves, diapers, papers - which had residents name on them). We had scheduled a tour with Chestnut Ridge, it took the front desk person, 40 minutes to find someone to tour us. The person who toured us was the Business Manager, who had no clue about the community, didn't have keys to unlock the apartments to see. We asked about the independent living, not that Mom is going there, she needs assisted living. Business Manager said that Independent Living is for Section 8, not the assisted living side, than asked if we had good money to spend in the assisted living (not appropriate). Toured the dining room, in basement (elderly person on the floor, she said don't worry someone will get her). We ended the tour right there. Not a good first, middle or end impression.

My friend recently had a hip replacement and had a horrible experience at Langdon Place. I will NEVER, EVER allow her (or any other person I know) to get sentenced to a stay at this place. There are patients calling out for help and nobody ever comes to see what's the matter. They call out for their medication that was supposed to be given three hours ago and nobody comes. My friend was transferred to a different room after the first night of listening to her roommate crying for help all night, and then she started threatening my friend. The second room had NO BOTTOM SHEET & nobody came to help my friend who ended up using the top sheet on the bottom (making the bed with a 4 day old hip replacement). The food was disgusting. No menu ... you get what you get. Tepid coffee & tea. Breakfast one morning was two pieces of sausage. That's it. When she complained, they gave her five more pieces! An hour later they brought her two fried eggs. Dinner one night was a large scoop of macaroni & cheese with a small scoop of undrained stewed tomatoes. The tomato juice mixed in the with the mac & cheese. Disgusting. They hide the thing to call the nurse in the drawers that the old people can't reach! When another friend went to pick up my friend who was discharged, , she couldn't find ANYBODY IN THE PLACE to let them know that she was picking her up. Anybody could have walked in there and taken any of those old people without permission. They charged $12,000 for a two night stay.

This place deserve for a 0 star. They do not know how to take care of your loved one. They hide everything to you. The "nurse" even do not know what the medicine are. If you ask, they just name something else. [Names removed] are the worst people I met ever. Do not trust every word that they told you.They should not work at the senor care facility. They should be an "actor". Was very disappointed. Would never recommend this facility to anyone I cared about.

My mother in law lives there. She fell twice, once when in the presence of an aide, out of bed! Their cleaning staff not good at all. Her clothes are always lost. The toilet had a black ring around bowl. The aides are nice but do not help her brush her teeth or remember each time you tell them to help her. DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE THERE!
