Elderwood Administrative Services

We have had an amazing experience at Elderwood Village at Vestal. The people, all of them, are amazing. They are so personally invested and easy to work with. There is no hierarchy, no attitude, no bureaucracy. Everyone works as one team. And that's refreshing.

I was very impressed with Elderwood. They are very helpful, personable and caring. The staff is friendly and helpful. The entire place has a homey feel.

While our loved one was a resident there we had a wonderful experience, all of the staff members were so friendly and everything was just great. The meals were fantastic,.

They give a lot of interaction wth and activities for the residents. The food is very good also. They could improve by offering transportation, to appointments more than two days per week.

My dad has had better care at Elderwood than I ever could have imagined, and I'm very satisfied with them. They do well with everything, which is primarily driven by the staff's attentiveness and great attitude.

Our family had an in person tour and we thought it was a fine tour experience but unfortunately they would not be able to accept our loved one just due to the level of care they needed .

This place is great! I have limited experience, but do have some idea of how things should be from past experience with a loved one in a facility. It's very affordable. It's a good place to economize. Residents have their own room/bathroom and only share the shower area. It's a small community and everyone knows everyone by name. The staff is super and they love my uncle. His cognitive state is pretty severe, he struggles with his memory a lot. But he's even said that they take great care of him here. He was resistant to the idea of moving to a facility in the first place, so for him to say/know that says a lot to us. It's in a great location for us, in a central part of town and close to home. They constantly have things going on for families to be involved in. They're having a Thanksgiving lunch for residents and their families next week. It's a modern facility and they have great urgent medical care available downstairs also, if needed. They have a barbershop on site. The management is absolutely great. From the beginning, both the admin/social worker and the supervisor [names removed] were so helpful. They were patient and guided us through the whole process and answered all of our questions. Again, my uncle struggles cognitively, but he's safe, happy, and comfortable here. Not only does it show, but he's expressed this to us more than once. During visits, you tend to hear other residents talk and sometimes even chat with them. I've never heard any of them have anything negative to say about this facility or the staff. We've been very pleasantly surprised with the whole operation. I would absolutely recommend them to friends and family. In fact, I know others who have had loved one's here and they're all very happy with their experiences and have had nothing negative to say.

This community was available at the time our loved one needed to be quickly moved, the staff members and residents are all very nice to our loved one and to our family. We have not had a meal ourselves but according to our loved one the meals are good and have a pretty good variety. They have different activities going on all throughout the day. It is expensive especially with all the additional add ons.

I have not had complaints but due to COVID, they have not been able to do activities as much. Everyone has been very cooperative. We picked this community because of the physical distance and value for money.

Everything is great overall here.

The facility was nice, and pretty. They had nice activies. The administration was friendly and helpful.

We felt the floor plan would be too confusing for my loved one. The outdoor spaces didn't have any incorporation of nature. Good for an individual who enjoys a village locations.

We have had a very pleasant experience so far. The peace of mind has been wonderful. My loved one has been very happy here. The staff are very helpful, and helped with a smooth transition into this community. The staff communication with the family is very good. The community is able to provide medication management, bathing, dressing, and hygiene care is some of the care they are provided.

My mother had some health issues in [date removed] and was no longer able to live at home. We checked out a few assisted living centers and thought that Elderwood at Vestal would be a good fit. As a matter of fact it has been even better that I had imagined. The staff is very thoughtful and caring, and has helped my mom through a few difficult transitions, including one (temporary) hospital stay. My mom likes that it's pet friendly (she has a cat!), and I really do sleep soundly at night knowing she has such excellent care. I cannot endorse Elderwood at Vestal enough.

My family member loves it there. If she needs help with little things here and there, they help. She loves how friendly the staff are, and she enjoys the residents as well. The facility is clean and has an upscale look to it. It's all wood, so it looks kind of like an old men's club. Really her only complaint is the food, but she likes spicy food. They do offer hot sauce though if you ask for it.

This place is fantastic. The meals are fabulous, they are very accommodating to what they want to eat and not eat. They strive to make everything great for them. They offer activities everyday. My loved one does not partake but they do offer a calendar. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They show you where to go, they take the initiate to help you with whatever you need. The staff are very nice people.

My mother had a procedure and they would not take her until a tube was removed. I had to emergency place my loved one and could not wait for the tube to be removed to place her. We had to go with a different community.

The admissions process was painless. They were very helpful. They were detailed with lists that we needed for a smooth transition upon move-in. They were very helpful for my family member, who has memory loss, to acclimate to the facility. He absolutely loves the food, to the point that we don't even bring him food anymore. He tells us he doesn't want it. With his memory loss, the staff, is very accommodating and kind. We have not had one complaint in the time that he's been there.

it's going okay with my loved one being here so far. i've personally spent some time at another Elderwood community and did not like it. they have several locations, and this one gets a FIVE!
