I would highly recommend The Gardens at Park Balboa. The staff is always so nice. I think my mom's only complaint is that she wishes the activities were more varied.

They have made the transition for my loved one extremely easy. I cannot say enough about them as far as their ability to make her feel comfortable in a new environment. She enjoys the food and she is really happy there.

Did not like the business aspect of it. They would not do anything until someone would come in.

They take my mom shopping, but they only give her an hour in the store. The only thing I didn't really care for is when they assessed my mom, and she is pretty independent, but later they said she needed bathing and when we got her first bill it was on there so we had to figure that out, so that was kind of a problem.

The experience I have had so far with The Terraces at Park Marino have been wonderful. We have really enjoyed mom being here. The only thing I would mention is I wish they would provide more outings outside of the facility. Especially for those that are in wheelchairs. I would love mom to be able to go to church, etc. Other than that this facility has been very accommodating and a great experience.

Nice facility. One bedrooms with kitchenettes and view of the mountains from both the living room and bed room. They had assigned seating in the dining area which I thought was good for my mother. Management and people were nice since my mother will likely require maximum care to start.

The Terraces was so wonderful. The staff, in particular Dorothy Brooks, was so kind and helpful--as was Dana the nurse, Ara at the front desk, Eddie the chef, the servers in the dining room, the hair dresser, and Dana the Executive Director. The facilities were amazing--so homey and comfortable, clean, handicap accessible, and decorated nicely. The other residents were well cared for and happy, and inviting. My mother loved the food and her table mates, Sally and Ernesto, who we will truly miss. We picked the Terraces from many other places primarily because of its accessibility, especially the apartment bathrooms and hallways, as my mom was in a power scooter, and because of the great staff. The outdoor patio and views of the mountains, Eaton Canyon, and St. Lukes were additional pluses. This experience was enlightening for me and my mother-in-law. We were skeptical about assisted living, but now we know how great it can be and can only hope we can be in a place as nice at the Terraces (or the Terraces) when it is time for us to do so. I will always be grateful for how your staff handled my mother's move in and passing. God bless, Cathy Stites

They are really good here. They keep it very clean and are extremely friendly. They need to get a new nurse, she is often busy doing other things and isn't very quick to respond to the residents. She had her daughter in the room while giving an exam to a resident, which was unprofessional. The food okay, it is not stellar, but it's about average. The visitor parking is always filled up by the place next door, it would be nice if they did a better job of enforcing the towing signs. The things they do very well were absolutely clear when we visited. They had the room we were looking for, it was absolutely beautiful with a nice view, when you walk through the facility there are comfortable sitting areas, with a cozy feeling. It doesn't feel institutional at all.

Had a wonderful tour and learned even more from Dorothy. They have $ support program - I believe mom and dad would qualify for. the residents were again active - doing different activities and everyone was introduced to me and were so welcoming. Dorothy seemed to know every single resident we encountered and had personal questions or comments - so even Marketing director - has gotten to know the residents well. Rooms were bigger than others I've seen and loved that when dad had to move to Safe haven - mom could go visit dad anytime she wanted in the same building - the safe haven residents - can intermingle with others. Although a single building like gables - it felt more like large home - wide hallways - sitting areas all over - every floor. Book shelves, and such for residents - in several places. Wonderful views. Dad would be Ok in safe haven - esp as mom would be in same building with him.

My loved one has only been here a brief time, but thus far the experience has been wonderful. The aides and care staff are very attentive, and take great care of him. They seem very familiar with the sorts of issues that come up when dealing with memory care patients, and handle everything very well. I'm a fan of the layout of the facility, it is an enclosed secure facility, but it has places to walk and outside courtyard areas to get fresh air in. He's settling in very well here, he's already met a few people, and he's been participating in a few of the activities. On top of all of this, this was one of the least expensive memory care communites that I saw! This place is definitely worth a look.

Value is hard to say, it is very expensive but very good. She misses the activities a lot. The staff was exceptional, everybody that I met was just about as helpful as they could be. Their dining and their meals were very nice. They had a Halloween party that was super fun! It was a great experience, Dana, Abby, everyone was awesome. I would suggest it to anyone because they are so attentive.

Mom and Dad moved into Terraces at Park Marino Nov. 4 and we are so pleased with the attentive care, the friendly staff and administration, the atmosphere, their apartment, the food (mom has gained 6 lbs.), overall layout, the social activities and the distribution of M/D's medications. They are enjoying an easier life and becoming social once again.

From my mom's stand point she'd say it's a good value. My mom loves it. They do have activities. I couldn't tell you all of them but I know she plays the bingo that they offer. I think she's going to join their residents' committee to. The only thing I would say for an improvement is I've notice that the sliding doors to the rooms, to me, seem like they were installed backwards. Maybe they have a reason for doing it that way. They are doing their best accommodating my mom for security purposes. My mom loves it. She's so happy there!

Everything's going fine, they're really great and it's working out really well. I mean, my parents have complaints but I'm thrilled with them. So far it's been really clean, I haven't seen any problems with it, that was one of the things I liked about it, it's kind of built like an old school california hotel, everythings outside so there's none of that hallway smell. The staff is one of the main things that sold me on this place, they have a ton of heart. I think the activities are good, my parents are having a harder time getting to them cause my dad's handicapped a little bit, its hard sometimes for him to get around but its more just the psychologically getting to places thats hard. The staff does try to get everyone up and going so id say that theyre doing their job, my parents just aren't doing theirs. This is the first place we've been to and hopefully itll be the last!

The Terraces at Park Marino was a very nice place. Out of all of the facilities that I toured, I liked the programs that they had to offer the best. The facility itself was not as nice as another few we saw, but I think the price for what you get is the best here. Unfortunately they did not have any availability at the time that we were looking.

I'm a new resident at the community. I'm 101 years old and I' a very active person. I like to participate of a lot of activities. The reading club is so far my favorite activity, along with the walking club every morning. The caregivers are well train and so kind. The best part here are residents so welcoming and nice.

I toured the facility a few days ago around non time (lunch time). I got to see the dining room with most residents. It was magical. The facility is very clean and the employees are all so friendly. The rates are fair and the services are fantastic.
