We moved my grandmother here and she is very happy. She loves her apartment and the community. She raves about the food and so far has had a great experience. The staff has been really helpful in getting acclimated.

My rating for Lynmoore is a 5 and based on the experience we have had, we would recommend this community to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

My friends and brother wanted me to move here due to some unforeseen circumstances in my life and I was adamant that I didn’t want to…I’m 70 and thought this was an “old folks home.” How wrong I was! I’ve met friends, found a community and most importantly feel SAFE. I’m glad they brought me to the El Dorado.

The facility was very dated, residents in the villas were doing their own repairs because the company was unable. Most Villas had not been updated since the 80's and any updates were at the cost of the resident. The main building had old carpet that residents dogs were having accidents in and the facility smelled of dog urine when in the hallways.

My brother has been living at Brookdale of Des Plaines for a couple of years now. He picked Brookdale because of the closeness to his doctors and the recommendations given to us by the folks at "A Place for Mom". My brother had a tuff transition, from independent living to living with others. He now considers Brookdale home. I can thank everyone who he and i have come in contact with, from the person who answers the phone at Brookdale's switchboard, to the administrators, nurses, physical therapists and to the dinning room chef who slips my brother the occasional extra piece of roast beef. 2024 has been especially tuff, with many stays a Lutheran General Hospital ( which is 10 minutes away ), to the many stays a various rehab facilities. My brother is always looking forward to going "home" to Brookdale and so am I.

My memaw has lived here for about a year. I always look forward to her phone calls where she tells me how much she looks forward to the activities and bingo. She enjoys the food options and the planned excursions.

I frequently go to visit my Memaw and always greeted by such friendly staff! We appreciate everything they do for us and they do to ensure comfort and good times for my family! Memaw loves to go on her monthly lunch outing!

I recently went to visit my memaw and she is happy as a clam there. I love seeing all the fun activities they do for them. Including bingo and opportunities for them to socialize. Friendly, caring staff. She has met so many friends there. 5 stars.

I would definitely recommend - very nice residents and lots of activities to keep people busy. We picked them because of the location as it is near to me, price was more reasonable, very nice staff and clean facility

They were very welcoming the staff are very attentive. Overall this has been a good experience for my mom.

Facility is clean warm and inviting. Staff is friendly, upbeat and very respectful. I have not experienced the food, but my mother in law says she does not like it because it is too bland. I would absolutely recommend Discovery Village Clear Lake to others.

As a geriatric APN, I had many opportunities to visit the independent living communities in my area and when it came time to choose, I chose Brookdale Des Plaines! The community has met all my expectations; the location is close to my family, the quality of my apartment, excellent meal plan, friendly interactions with my fellow residents, the ability to transition to assisted living when needed, and value for the investment.

Staff are great. It is a great value for the money. The food is always lukewarm.

My father recently passed away and I needed to move my mom to a location where she could have company. We know someone who lives at 5 Star so that seemed the logical place to go. The service from everyone at the community has been outstanding. Mom has struggled to acclimate to life without dad and in a new place. The patience that the team has shown has been remarkable. The building isn’t new but neither is my mom. She loves her apartment, the food, and the new friends that she is making.

I narrowed down to 6 places based on proximity to me and reviews. I visited them and narrowed it down to 2 based on conversations with staff and residents as well as tours of the available units. I thought this was the best place for Mom... 1. Residents were very friendly and active. 2. Social activities suited Mom's interests. 3. Staff was very attentive but left me several times to greet residents by name. Many residents still drove and were very active. 4. Lunch and dinner were several hour window --mom had missed several meals because she went for a walk at her last place. 5. Available apartment had a back gate that opened onto the pool in 15 steps. Pool was heated in the winter for 12 month use. Staff PT lead water aerobics there. Mom loves water aerobics. 6. I was invited to come during lunch. One of the menu items was ribeye steak that day. It was delicious. Mom shared my love of good steaks!

Before moving to Brookdale, I researched a lot of communities, and I was not impressed. As soon as I walk into Brookdale Des Plaines and saw residents engaged, I knew this where I belong. I am very happy here and love all various activities especially the outings, entertainment and movies. I would recommend Brookdale!

I am very happy at Brookdale Des Plaines! With Brookdale at Home, I can have additional services if needed and stay in Independant Living. The staff and residents are great! I have recommended Brookdale to friends and family!

What we like the most about TerraBella Southport is the location and size. A nice community and relatively small assisted living facility. We also liked the fact the building was all one level. It made it more comfortable for our Mom.

I have had experience living in another community of of independent living and I have found that there’s no comparison between my other facility and the facility here everything has been acceptable and [name removed] very above board knows no selling us. We’re going to do this today and it doesn’t get done ever. I’ve been very happy with the move and everyone the staff and everything has been wonderful. I was amazed to have all of the heads of every department come visit me when I moved in, very very wonderful welcome!

The staff is always kind and considerate, very supportive. Always with smiles and good attitudes.
