I toured Harbor Chase and the facility itself was beautiful and glamorous however what turned me off completely was when it was said “the food is our top priority… and of course care too”. People are placing their loved ones in these facilities to have peace of mind. When the food is the most important and the care is second to the food? You’re in the wrong business. Open a restaurant instead of an assisted living facility. The nurse on staff when I toured did not seem friendly whatsoever either. Just not very inviting even with the beautiful shell of a building. The care and peace of mind is what people are paying for…. I hope they realize that is more important than their upscale restaurants.

Visually, it is a beautiful facility. Food is pretty good. I hesitate to recommend it because they are severely short-staffed on care partners and managers. In the six months my family member has been there, two Memory Care Directors have walked off the job, 2 Activities Directors have left (leaving zero supervision in Memory Care), the Business Director quit, the Sales Director left the day after we got there & yesterday, the Director for Care gave her two weeks notice. We had finally had a meeting to review my family member's basic care after 6 months of requesting and she gave notice the next day. We are nice and not demanding. I am there every day. Several memory care families are working/supporting each other so we look out for each other's relatives when we are in the building because of the turmoil. I shudder to think what would happen if my parent was high maintenance.

My Father was there for a year and a half, the quality declined steadily! He passed away in [date removed] and we received no call , nothing from the head of the staff to give us any type of sympathy. We were very unhappy and disappointed at this service!! The staff was always very limited, with mostly one person available forthe entire floor, if he pushed his button, it took up to a half hour to respond. We enrolled him with high hopes, very clean and a staff we liked, they got rid of half the staff within a few months, with no explanation and we had to visit every other day to ensure he was ok and getting the help he needed.

As for comments, when the current owners purchased the facility, they did not honor any of the contracts and agreements from the previous owners. It has been an unbelievably horrible experience with the new management. I would not wish anybody going there to have to go through this.

Memory Care-We found the quality of care to be highly inadequate. Residents were left unattended for hours at a time. Residents were left in soiled clothing. Family member's room was not cleaned & laundry not done multiple weeks at a time. I took laundry home & dusted/cleaned myself. Showers were rarely given despite being told it would be a weekly occurrence. High staff turnover. My understanding is that Assisted Living is a pleasant experience.

Absolutely, the WORST care I have ever experienced for my loved one. I wouldn’t send me dog to this place to be looked after. The administration and staff give the poorest care I have EVER seen. I have NOTHING good to say about this facility.

What stood out to us about this community was the great food, and the place was new and clean. But we had a pretty horrible experience overall. The staff completely ignored my dad (who has a lot of needs), and the front office staff were terrible at communicating with my sister and me. We moved our dad to a new facility last month. I would very much not recommend HarborChase of Beavercreek. They were severely understaffed. I know everyone is, and it's not their fault, so I cut them some slack for that. But the management was really bad, and we never got the impression that they cared.

I feel this place is NOT a safe place for our loved ones due to one of the doors being left unlocked around the clock. I was told that there was someone at the desk at all times to keep an eye on who came and went thru that door. This was a lie that door was unlocked and no one at the desk to observe things. This was very disturbing to me. Take this for what it is worth to you.

The care was very poor. Having to wait 30 minutes to go to restroom is uncalled for. Also their people that do baths tend to pass the buck to someone else which results in not getting bath on scheduled day. Sheets don't get changed I personally stripped the bed two or three times so they would have to put on fresh sheets. My loved one pushed button to go to restroom and when they finally came they said you have a pullup on so in other words go ahead and pee your pants, My loved one still knows when they need to go to the restroom so they should be taken when they push their button . My loved one was not supposed to be left alone in restroom but they were left alone . There's more but I will stop with these few complaints . I will not be taking my loved one back there. This facility has a REALLY GOOD physical and occupational therapy department. They were very nice and did their jobs with good results. Thanks to them for their kindness.

A few years back this was THE PLACE for your loved one to recover. Now I believe there is lack of leadership, not enough motivated staff, poor quality of care, and general technologies that malfunction (pendent call light buttons that have batteries in them that no one checks to see if they are still functioning and horrible WIFi reception) to name a few. The call light for my family member routinely took more than 30 minutes to answer. The PT is great ! The OT, due to one therapist that talks more than works and seems to lack motivation also made this therapy very upsetting. The nurses are usually unable to answer any questions that are asked of them and one of them was down right intimidating to my family member and they were truly afraid of this nurse. Dining services was awesome! Friendly and a breath of fresh air.

There was a large disconnect between what sales told us and the level of care my mother received. I'd be hesitant to select this facility if your loved one isn't fairly independent. The facility is beautiful and well designed. Activities are plentiful. Food is good and the dining experience pleasant. The residents are delightful. What you pay for is the CARE, though. Go into this one with your eyes WIDE open and plan to visit frequently if your family member needs any assistance. We've had challenges with staffing, housekeeping, lack of checks, meals, and med errors.

We visited the Sheridan to inquire about a community for my mother. We were thoroughly unimpressed. The sales lady, [name removed], had no clue what she was talking about, changing prices each time we talked. Seems like they are only out for money. Would call me weekly to see if we were coming. We chose Magnolia Springs instead and are much happier. Buyer beware.

My Father died there. I don't think the staff really cared. Wasn't our first choice. He went there for rehab and in the short time there, his life got sucked out of him. Nurses were rude to family when we made requests on his behalf. They made it clear that we were not their priority. Social worker came in when we were leaving and instead of being discreet, she indicated that he was going to be there for a while. I could see my father's will to live leave his body. Dies two days later. Congrats Idiot. Hope others can find another option than this place.
