This community has two sides and one is more active than the other. The staff we met here were nice and the community seemed clean. We did not get to try the food but the options on the menu sounded good. They offer family style eating.

They were a slightly above average facility but there were some very special caregivers there. Safety from falls were the biggest area that they were weak in. Food was a lot of carbs with gravy and scrambled eggs not done. More variety and if resident isn't eating food offer other options. [name removed] lost a lot of weight because she didn't like the food and and wasn't always offered other options). Activities on calendar were fine but not always done and participation was low. Overall I think Bridgepointe does a pretty good job in a very difficult memory care population.

We toured with Village Manor and the reason we did not choose this facility was because we felt that the rooms were too small and outdated.

The executive director, [name removed], is a sniveling liar, a poor excuse of a human being. If you have to deal with him, good luck, he's going to lie to you while conveying a false politeness about him. I wouldn't send my parent there again just because of him.We picked this community because it was a small and intimate setting, and had a nice gym for my father to use.

Bridgepointe at Ashgrove Woods is beautiful when you come through the front doors, but behind closed doors it's a whole different place. I would rate the Care at a zero, if that was an option. They allowed my loved one to be saturated in urine. The whole floor in his bathroom would stick to your feet because of all the old urine on the floor where he wasn't able to go to the bathroom anymore. The smell would knock you down. No one helped him and they didn't put Depends on him. His feces was on the floor, his shoes, and his walker. I had to tell the nurses, nothing was done. I told the supervisor, nothing. Then told the main lady. They shampooed his carpet and cleaned his bathroom, but in a few days it happened again. My loved one had Dementia- they knocked on his door and said supper is ready and left. My loved one was confused and did not know how to get to the dining area! I was furious! They never groomed him. I had to clip his nails, help him brush his teeth, etc . He was in Memory Care. He was having chest pains and they never had him checked out. I had to demand it numerous times and it took several hours that day just to get them to call for an ambulance for him to go to the VA for evaluation. The nurse at the VA would not put his clothes or shoes back on - she said they were saturated with urine....even his shoes! My loved one did not return to Bridgepointe.

The facility was clean and very impressive at first. The administration was very enthusiastic and appeared caring. We gave notice and moved my family member after just a month. Medical issues were not addressed. Conflicting or evasive responses were often given. Preferences were not honored. Mail was not delivered and was returned unopened after we moved. Clothing disappeared. My family member was dehydrated, withdrawn and afraid. The administration was not visible on site very often and has ignored questions and concerns. When we gave notice the only reply was "when are you leaving?" A call to the corporate office had the same result. You can tell where the lack of concern originates. Really research this company. The very high charges do not reflect the service provided. I would look elsewhere. Not sure why the word "Christian" is part of the corporate identity. After over$10000.00 billed for our one month bad experience, I feel like I would love to warn anyone even thinking of approaching this property.

We placed our Mother there in April 2016. The staff (Aids) were not giving our Mother an option (alternative, substitute) to eat if she did not like what was served on a particular day. KRS Statutes clearly state that when changes in the menu are necessary, substitutions shall provide equal nutritive value and the changes shall be recorded on the menu and all menus shall be kept on file for thirty (30) days. If a patient refuses foods served, nutritional substitutions shall be offered. This all transpires between Jan. 25 - Feb. 1, 2017. I assumed the food situation was taken care of but our Mom kept complaining to us about not liking what was being served and not given an option. I was wrong! The food situation had deteriorated and also our Mother's right shoulder had sustained some type of injury. She could not move it without significant pain. She first told me that her shoulder was hurt on January 17, 2017. I assumed the Nursing Staff had been monitoring it and Charting on it. I was wrong! Well, no one in the meeting even knew about our Mother's shoulder and we were told we would have to wait 24-48 hours to see a Chart. I agreed. Jan. 25, 6:00 PM - an X-Ray was completed at 9:00 PM. So, at least there were no broken bones which is all a Plain Film X-Ray reveals. So our next course of action was to ask the facility to send Mom out for an MRI because an MRI will show things like torn Rotator Cuff damage, etc. I called and requested this on the morning of Jan. 26th. I was refused once again and not allowed to see any Charting done on our Mom. Jan. 26, 10:30 AM - two Staff members of the Homeplace visited Mom's room asking her very "leading questions", such as: "Do you like it here?" "Would you like to be somewhere else better?" Jan. 26, 6:00 PM - my brother and I went to Homeplace to see the Charge Nurse. We asked her if we could see any type of Charting done on our Mom within the last 30 days. She called the Administrator and another Staff member and we were once again refused. Jan. 27, 2:00 PM - Tonya Cox (Administrator at The Homeplace) called to inform me that my brother and I were being placed under "Supervised Visitation" status from this point onward and ask if we could have another meeting on Feb. 1 at 5:00 PM. I agreed to meet. Allow me to interject another KRS Statute here and show where The Homeplace defied KRS Law by placing us under "Supervised Visitation." There are only a few reasons an Administrator can place a family member of a resident under "Supervised Visitation" and here they are: [1] if a resident of the facility is physically or verbally abused by the individual or group; [2] if an individual carries a firearm or other deadly weapon into the facility who is not a Law Enforcement Officer; [3] if an individual commits a felony or misdemeanor while on the facility's premises; and [4] if an individual is visibly under the influence of Alcohol or Drugs. (KRS 216.537; 216.540; 216.545; 194.050). My brother and I never violated any of these KRS Laws. At this point all signs point towards "Retaliation" from the staff simply because we asked three questions about the food, mom's shoulder and mom's Chart. Feb. 1, 5:00 PM - [removed[ said the reason she was forced to place my brother and I under "Supervised Visitation" was that we made her staff feel threatened; she accused of asking staff members for their home addresses. We never did this. [removed] also handed us a packet full of blank medical records and a 30 Day Eviction Notice informing us that they were kicking mom out of the facility! Therefore, my advice to anyone looking to place a family member in The Homeplace at Midway is this: if your family member has Dementia or Alzheimer's, then this is a great facility to place them because they will not be able to tell their family members any negative thing occurring there. If you or another family member ever complain, you better start looking for another nursing home for your loved one because they will figure out a way to get rid of you.

Very dissatisfied that the social worker and director of nursing will not return my calls regarding important issues concerning my family member. I have left numerous messages and yet no phone call back. This makes me very uncomfortable to have my family member at a place where I can't get administration to call me back . Also , though they appear to engage their seniors on social media , they mostly do nothing but sit around all day long . It seems like a very disengaging, environment where the residents are not stimulated. My family member also always describes the food as just fair .

Very, very disappointed!!!! Please don’t put your parent in their memory care facility! They are not attentive to the resident needs and medications! Tried to get results from the management personnel and never saw results!! I think they need to take the word Christian Care off of their facility!!!!! Very bad experience with having my parent there!!!! Have a major turn over of employees, all the good one never stay very long at all!!

We recently had my father move in on a trial basis at Bridgepoint. I would have to say we as a family couldn't be more disappointed. The under staffing, the poor food quality and lack of concern is frightening. We have contacted Bridgepoint many times with our concerns but are either promised improvements that never come or simply ignored. My father is woken at all hours of the night needlessly. I love my dad and am crushed this was his experience. Bridgepoint may be a pretty building, but that is the only thing positive I can write in a review. The building is also being sprayed for fleas....I was told no pets but a resident has a pet that now brought fleas into the building. Please spare your loved ones the disappointment. Just ask any resident- they are not happy. It's such a shame, Bowling Green could really use the facility. Great concept/ no execution......Didn't expect to be able to get in touch with administrators....they simply won't address concerns.
