My Aunt has been a resident of The Gardens of Clanton for 16 months. She is not the easiest person to get along with but the staff at The Gardens of Clanton have gone out of their way to help her feel welcome and accepted. She enjoys the activities they provide, especially bingo. Facility is well kept and always decorated for holidays and special occasions.

The staff and community is great. It is better than other places.

Our experience so far has been good. The staff have been really good to our family member and to us, and they communicate things that are going on. They answer our questions. The activities I've seen I think they do a good job with.

Truewood by Merrill is a nice place to put your loved one, it’s a really nice place to start. The cleanliness of the community and the friendliness really stand out to me, most of the people are nice. My sister's room is nice, but I wish it were a little bit larger. I believe the turnover and staffing retention has been affecting the quality of the food. The only complaint I have is that they only have one maintenance guy for the entire building. They want the residents to be able to wash their own clothes, but there are limited washers and dryers that are actually working. I’ve spoken to a few of the residents, and from what they’ve said, those appliances haven’t been working for a while. How do they expect an entire floor of people to wash their clothes with non working appliances? I’ve been having to take my sister's clothes home and wash them for her. The cleanliness of the appliances is poor as well. There’s supposed to be someone there who maintains the cleanliness of the community. It doesn’t seem like they’re holding that person accountable, because the washers and dryers are filthy. There’s built up dirt and lint, which usually occurs after it's been used for so long with no cleaning. Truewood offers transportation to appointments and stores, but my sister hasn’t used that service yet. There’s been talk of them charging an additional fee, but I’m unsure of if or when that will take place. They have outings for the residents and a variety of activities. My sister really enjoys bingo and other games in the activity room. Overall, I would recommend Truewood to others.

As far as we know the meals and dining service is good and the activities. Based on our experience with Limestone Lodge we would recommend the communities to others.

Our main concern is that they may not have the budget to open the Assisted Living section that was supposed to be open soon when we got there a year ago. We're just concerned that there won't be enough care for our loved one if she needs it in the future. They're also experiencing staffing shortages in the kitchen and in housekeeping. But she likes it there overall. It's clean, and the interior is up-to-date. She really enjoys having her own little space. She's not very social but is close to the kitchen and break room where she can go get snacks. I like that she has to go get her breakfast and lunch every day, and if she doesn't, the staff will come check on her, especially since she's had problems with falling. So that makes her get out at least a little bit, be a little active, and socialize a little bit. She knows and likes the staff and feels comfortable there now.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a good tour but they do not have a memory care unit.

Since covid maintenance is not working at all. I would just advise to be aware. There are a lot of promises made but there is not as much follow through. This is mainly with maintenance and the urgency to respond to the request. My mom is with nice people but all they talk about is all of the issues but she is happy and that's what matters.

Our family had an in person tour and the community itself was beautiful, but on the tour we really did not see any residents out and about it was almost deserted feeling.

I toured this community and it was very nice, the staff was friendly and they answered all my questions. This was more of an independent living community and it just didn't fit our needs.

I would recommend this community to others for their loved ones. This was one of the better ones I toured. The community has proved that they care about residents. My loved one's room is nice, and they enjoy their room. It has everything that my loved one need.

The best we found for my needs.

McClellan Assisted Living is excellent. My mom does not like the food, they need better cooks. The room sizes and layout of the community are excellent. They have an outdoor space for residents to use. Overall it has been a positive experience.

My mother has lived here close to 2 years. It has been a great experience. Very good to have a place where my mom can be close and well taken care of.

Great staff and I enjoy visiting with the wonderful residents; they seem to enjoy being here. I share a devotion with them every two weeks and we have a good time. The entire staff seem to be doing a great job that they enjoy.

The staff members are wonderful! All the ladies treat my mother like their family. Mother is happy there :) The facility itself could use a facelift (carpet very worn) but I really feel like my mother is well taken care of there.
