Cambridge Village Senior Living

We had a short time frame in finding a short term facility for my brother. They had what he needed, a fully furnished, and I mean a fully furnished (right down to spatulas in the drawer) apartment. The pub was also great to make it like a fun neighborhood.

I was very impressed. I really appreciated the friendly nature of the tour without pressure to make any decisions. It looks like a wonderful option for my mom who is independent but would prefer not to live alone. Katie gave us the tour and is like to thank her for making us feel welcome and at ease. She was great!

Our visit to your facility was everything we were looking for. The apartments we looked at were very well designed and very spacious. It felt more like a resort than a retirement home. We still have this in our retirement plans. We are just waiting to decide if this is the right time to sell our home and take that next step.

Couldn't ask for more activities and nicer environment. Would like to test the food quality.

We are researching Retirement Communities for our mother and was very impressed with Cambridge Village. The minute we walked in we enjoyed how warm and friendly the personnel and residents were. It is the right size not so large that you could get lost. The dinning room is bright and cheerful. The apartments were very spacious. Our mother will feel safe and comfortable at Cambridge Village.

Cambridge Village Senior Living is a fantastic place for seniors. They have a lot of activities planned daily, very good nutritious meals and a very helpful staff! I would highly recommend it for seniors whether they have disabilities or not. The residents that are there seem very happy to be there. My mom has lived there for 1 1/2 years and loves it!

My parents have been living at Cambridge Village for 14 months now and are really happy - and we are happy when they are happy!!! Cambridge Village is really beautiful - the buildings, the grounds and the lake and the apartments.... The staff is always friendly and one of the things I appreciate the most is when you make a suggestion or a comment for consideration or improvement, they listen and implement. I really do believe they want the best for their residents and that means a lot. Its been a great experience and it puts my heart at ease to know my Mom and Dad are happy, well taken care of and in a great living environment!

This place is beautiful. The residents all seemed happy and the 2 apartments I saw were very nice. I would feel very confident in having my dad live here. I would live here too!

Very impressed with Katie, the Marketing Director, today on my first visit to Cambridge. Everything was very organized and she was extremely knowledgeable. She wasn't pushy. It was nice that she called the residents by name, as we passed them in the hallways and elevators. It's a beautiful facility.

My first contact with A Place for Mom a year and 1/2 ago resulted in a recondition to visit Cambridge Village at Apex with two others in Raleigh. As I progressed thru almost 20 facilities visits, Apex became a stronger first choice. During that time My family "geogrphy" changed and I decided to wait to see what was "coming out of the ground" in Wilmington. I'm glad I did, because I believe Cambridge Village of Wilmington is going to quickly surface Apex.

My Mom likes her room. She is 91 so she has not been able to get involved in the various activities they offer.

Tour was wonderful with Katie. She was very knowledgeable, and answered all our questions. I love the place. The atmosphere was very inviting. It's a little pricey.

The staff are all very friendly. The only negative is that the rent was raised this year higher than we expected.

I see this as not 5 stars only because many of the activities that were promised and are carefully planned out do not have the capacity for the entire population. The trips to Walmart fill up fast. The transportation to doctors visits needs to be done weeks before hand. The garden Club has a very long wait list to be a member. Even some dinners you need to sign up first in order to be able to participate in. The facility is clean and the staff is super friendly. Communication about events and activities is clear and accessible. The apartments are well equipped and well maintained. Issues are resolved quickly. The food is good but lacks a little bit of variety. The in-house physician is great. The in-house home health, while we have not had to call upon it, was very knowledgeable and thorough in their assessment.

From my point of view, it is 4 stars (not perfect). Beautiful location and facilities, lots of activities, staff very attentive and caring although I am not in ton and involved other than when I visit. Beautiful apartments. My mom is starting to decline cognitively and she needs more support and attention than what I have arranged for her now.

The staff are awesome! My mom has not participated in very many activities yet so I cannot rate those but I have spent a bit of time looking at what is available and it does seem sufficient, diverse and interesting. In addition, it seems like the residents have a lot of control in the decision making and even informing their own activities that is supported by the organization. There is even an app to Make planning, reaching out to other residents and participating as easy as possible. Apps are a bit difficult for my mom but it is fairly simple. The food is good but does not vary a lot. I would give that a four. There are two options for different locations to eat which is great and there are about four items that rotate every week, The main menu changes quarterly I am told. Her apartment is a one bedroom efficiency so the kitchen is very small and has very little space available. She was able to fit her king size bed in a 92-in couch in the space without any difficulty and has a walk-in closet and lots of storage in the bathroom. From all the places I visited and all the price structures I saw, I do believe that it is a good dollar value to experience. Almost all of the apartments have a view of the fountain or trees and my mom's apartment is on the ground level where she can build her own garden as well as attend the gardening club which is directly across from her and is visibly active. One complaint I have is that many of the documents in the resident handbook are not accurate, but they seem to accept the feedback well. The staff have gone out of their way to make sure my mom is comfortable and to provide her with everything that she needs socially a nd logistically. It is absolutely awesome that they have PT and OT as well as a primary care physician in the location. We have met the physician and worked with the PT and they are both awesome.

My biggest challenge was the company that they have partnered with which I believe it was called Interim. Their nursing aid services at times were not satisfactory. I do feel that they also treated a dear friend of mine very poorly. And refused to allow her to come back to the facility while I was in morning of the loss of my husband.

It is what I expected. Nice people. Good facilities. We are happy with the choice.

It's great! Facilities are beautiful. Food is good, gym is top of the line. I would recommend it

They staff takes a real personal interest in the residents, which I appreciate. They go out of their way to make the residents feel seen and heard.
