Facility and apartments are great….Residents are phenomenal…..service staff is great and now the Bad…..the 14-16% increase in one year of the monthly fee is catastrophic…. Either there was initial bad planning or inferior executive management….. I suspect the last…..an increase of [amount removed]k per year for many people who are on fixed income is a slap in the face for those any who paid much of their life savings to purchase an apartment…. There are many that are now considering moving to alternative housing.

It's a hard time to find a place that's perfect because of the lack of employees. There just weren't enough staff to provide the care that my loved one needed, especially in regards to getting to the bathroom. They're very receptive when you talk to them with concerns and say they'll get things done, but then it just never gets resolved. They never even got her her own mailbox the whole time she was there. The facility itself was clean. I always saw people cleaning, and they kept my loved one's room clean for the most part.

Lots of blow, but no show. Food leaves lots to be desired. Keeps wasting money. "Claims to be not for profit," buts pends enough they can't make a profit (Waste.) Promises services they do not provide.

Lobby reminds me of a nice Hilton. Halls remind me an office building. Only saw and met 2 staff members. Both nice. VERY HARD to find and get into. Rooms really small to be so new.

The therapy was just horrible, the had temporaries that were coming in and i never really got the same person. what the therapist did was have me walk down to the therapy center and put me on a machine and leave me there for as much as 45 minutes and not do anything else. She would stay in the room with me and its a good amchine, but she would do her paperwork while i sat on the machine even if she didnt have any other people to work with. i understand that shes not there anymore. it was clean and i liked the other people there, it was basically the therapy that was a problem and it was so much more expensive than the other places.

I dont know about assiisted living but the memory care and nursing home are not up to grade for what this place charges , If you do decide to put your loved one there ,be aware and watch what goes on . It looks great but that doesn't mean it is.

My mother in law is no longer there. We made the choice to move her when the level of care was unacceptable. They "lost" her twice (she as hiding in her shower in her bathroom both times) and we had to locate her. When she became slightly incontinent and we paid extra to have them make sure she was changing her depends, they didn't. She started layering clean clothes and depends on top of dirty ones and developed "diaper rash." She is now at The [facility name removed] when she receives exceptional care at a fraction of the cost.

I toured with Bucker Villas and none of the employees acknowledged me or my father. We also did not see any residents out and about in the common areas, so we did not choose this facility.

Buckner does independent living very well. While the AL is small. a plus, it is short staffed. 1 aide for 25+ residents each shift and 1 med aide. No variety of activities and residents are pretty much left on their own with how to spend their day. The vibe you get is "dead." A word of warning- if your loved one ever expresses dissatisfaction or turns down help from aides, they will not help them/try to find out why they are refusing assistance or do any type of problem solving. Aides are not trained to work or problem solve with residents when issues arise. The AL manager turnover has been terrible since 2020 before the pandemic began: 3 AL directors left. Residents and their families received no communication about each hire or departure. Buckner has a lot to improve on in communication & the food. Residents in AL hate the food and it just gets worse with mostly sandwiches as main meals. Enjoy their independent living, but look elsewhere when you need more care. More choices exist.

I was very disappointed with how the rooms looked, they needed A LOT of updating. The guy who we spoke with here was not personable at all, it was just overall not a good experience. There was an incident on the news not long ago about this facility too. If I knew then what I know now, I would just keep my loved one at home.

We did not have the best tour experience. When we showed up they were not expecting us and asking why we were there. The tour was thorough, I just did not like what I saw. It seemed cold and sterile. It seems like a place that is more geared towards younger more active adults. It requires a lot of walking.

My loved one was previously a resident at The Stayton. Unfortunately, I think the skilled nursing floor was very short handed when my loved one was there. Her room was right by the nurses station. Because of her injury, she needed assistance to the bathroom. She is very independent and did not call unless it was an emergency. We ended up hiring someone from 6pm-8am because the staff would never answer in the middle of night. The room was kept clean and the staff was friendly, just maybe over worked. When she moved to Assisted Living she had a large amount of money taken that was hidden in a drawer. I am hopeful they were able to hire some more honest, qualified nurses to help with the patients. I heard that they were under new management, so hopefully there will be some improvement.

My loved one was there for rehab. She could walk when she arrived at BPP, but she could not stand or walk when leaving the facility after several weeks. She had sores on her legs (I have photos) when we picked her up today. Nothing was said about them to us. I was very disappointed with the harsh way she was talked to. It made me wonder how they treated her when we weren’t there. I could not get her away from there fast enough! These are all things I saw or heard with my own eyes and ears.

The facility is beautiful! But the care is severely lacking. If your loved one has more than 2-3 meds, hire your own CNA to stay with them. During the 3 1/2 weeks Mom was there, her meds were NEVER given correctly. If your loved one needs help getting to/from the restroom, I hope you followed the advice above. Forget the instructions to call the nurses desk if no one answers a call button within 5 minutes. That phone was NEVER answered. It was DAYS before they offered to assist Mom with a shower. There is ZERO continuity of care. Most of the med techs & CNA’s are “agency” personnel, not employees of Ventana. Many commented that they wouldn’t come back. [name removed], Asst Directors of Nursing, is one of the least caring, least professional people I have ever met. Anytime we asked for help, her attitude was awful! I know the staff of SNF’s are overwhelmed, overworked, & do a job that many would run from. However, facilities must be held accountable & provide an adequate level of care.

The only good thing I can say about The Stayton is the facility is nice. My Dad was there on the assisted living floor and then in the skilled nursing floor. He did not get the care he needed. The Stayton made promises to us they did not keep. We had to ask numerous times for them to bill my Dad's insurance and long term care. It took them months before they actually sent the statements in so we could get reimbursed. I, and my two sisters, visited Dad every day. If we had not been there he would not have had timely bathroom trips, water, or other essential care. Most of the time when we went into his room his call button was on the floor where he could not reach it. Rehab would use excuses not to take him to rehab. They kept saying he doesn't want to go and we won't make him. Convenient excuse because the facility he went to after he left the Stayton had no trouble taking him to rehab.
