5 across the board. It's been great! They really like my Mom and we would certainly recommend A Banyan Residence community to other families.

Banyan Residence has been great. My family member is very happy in memory care there. I like the team very much. We live out of state, and they do a great job keeping us updated and in the loop. They seem to have pretty good activities. I like that they also have assisted living there, and there's some interaction between the assisted living residents and memory care residents. One area for improvement is the food. I would like to see them offer better options. Currently the food is often repetitive and unexciting.

This community was just not appropriate for my loved ones condition. The tour was great and I was able to see everything and I got all of the information that I needed from the community. It was just not the right fit for what my loved one needed.

They have had a lot of issues with staffing. Some of the staff are very good. They are trying very hard to make it a high quality place. I do think they are trying. I would say to look at it and check it out. It's a very beautiful place.

Right away we new this was the community for our mother - it is very clean and well kept. They have a fish pond surrounding by small waterfalls where the residents can walk around. The landscaping is beautiful, the entire environment - inside and outside of the community is so bright and cheery. Everybody is very friendly and helpful. We like how we can go online and see all the videos and pictures they post of our loved one and other residents partaking in the activities. We love how they have a hair salon on sight and a little ice cream shop. The value for the money is good.

I put my loved one at A Banyan Residence, and I have no regrets. I was able to see her outside through the fence during Covid, and she was able to walk around the facility without a mask on and enjoy the other residents. All the staff wore masks, but my elderly loved one didn't have to suffer through that. I can't say enough good things about the staff. The owner, both father and son, will tell you all about the property, the flowers, the garden. But it's really their staff that make a difference. They just seem to be genuinely caring, everybody I've seen on the daytime crew anyway. I've not been able to be there when the nighttime crew is there, but my loved one is generally safely in her room at that time. Her dementia did decline while she was there, but I blame that on Covid. It's a shame what that's done to our seniors.

They have a Facebook page where families can go and see their loved ones participating in activities. My husband and his sister really liked the outdoor spaces for the residents, it gives the community a real resort feel. A Place for Mom has been great to work with as well. They sent us great options to check out. They even checked back in with us a month after the move, not having anything to sell us just checking to see how we were doing. Kudos to A Place for Mom for having such great communities to send us.

The costs have gone up SIGNIFICANTLY since my MIL was first placed at Banyan, but the service level has not risen by the same out. They alternate between increasing monthly rate and rate for additional services, but I doubt that their costs have gone up by the same amount. In addition, we provide adult diapers, however were charged for them for several months and never credited ... it's impossible to get response from their accounting person.

I've eaten there three times and the food was good. The patients wait quite a while to be served. Once we waited 30 minutes. My dad isn't happy with the food, but he has dementia so who knows ? I am glad they offer options like hot dogs and hamburgers. The grounds are beautiful and Dad loves to sit outside.

This community was more for memory care and not what we were looking for. This community was too large and felt like my mother would be lost.

We chose A Banyan Residence because the facility is set up where it is all on one level, she goes from her apartment straight outside. Some other facilities were like a hotel and had many floors. It is a smaller, more quiet facility that has beautiful gardens outside. The rooms are very good size for what she needs. It is hard to get a hold of administrative staff, so they could improve on accessibility. It is a memory care facility, so the residents here are more advanced with their care so there is not as much interaction with other residents. I would recommend them for the right individual.

I was not a fan of this place. The rooms were small and had a strange layout, and the entire place just had a problem with cleanliness in general. The care they offered was fine, but we decided to search for other options when the rates increased nearly 50% for no discernible reason.

The best part of the facility was the activities. The worst was when they didn't give us any notice when they threw my husband out. They Baker Acted him in the beginning of the month and charged me for the whole month. I had to argue for my money back they gave me back a small amount and then charged me [fee removed] to move him out. I moved him.

They do many activities- however the employee turnover is very high. I think they overwork their good employees until they quit. If I wasn’t there every other day to make sure things were being done correctly I hate to think what would happen to my mother who suffers from severe dementia. She was ambulatory when she arrived last April but by December she was full in a wheelchair as the sensors that were supposed to alert the staff if she got out of bed in the evening were never turned on. So she walked out of her room at 10pm and fell on the concrete- I was notified the next day around 730. They said she had an X-ray 2 days later they said she had not had an X-ray. Communication is lacking

Don’t let the beautiful grounds and friendly sales staff fool you. There is serious neglect happening in the memory care unit. This is not a place to send your family member if they need help with their ADLs. My father was there for about 2 years and his diaper was often not changed, his medication wasn’t given properly and occasionally they barely fed him. Unless you are watching the staff like a hawk, your loved one won’t get great care. They are very understaffed and mismanaged. It really doesn’t seem like the owners have their hearts in this business. Thank goodness that some of the carers are genuinely kind people. Although there is such high staff turnover, most of the good staff eventually leave or are looking to.

Again depending on the behavior of the patient...Most of them they keep on like a zombie start. Like people say you have to visit from what I Hear they are pretty much the same. I couldn't handle him either other wise I would've kept him home. at a point there's no other choice. I guess if you have tons of money you can have someone come in. Not always doable

My husband was there for 4 months. They weren't qualified for him in memory care. All they wanted was money. I have such horrible memories of that place. Make sure the patient doesn't need strong meds. My husband was. Tough deal. Either he would be aggressive or so drugged he couldn't eve sit. It is memory's care only. The staff kids were great. others not do much
