I would recommend to others. They seem to be very caring about the residents . Good activities that the residents can participate in. Close to our home and great staff.

I would give them all a 5. I think any facility is not going to be perfect but I haven't had any negative things so far. You just have to remember that it's different because it's not your home

The reason I gave a lower rating, is because my Uncle fell several times in a shot period and the last one led to his death. I think communication should of happened and he should of got his meals in his room because of fall risk. But they were friendly, clean, and seemed most of the staff cared.

We toured many memory care facilities. My Mom was a resident in another facility in Salem. When Dad needed memory care we settled on Windsong because it was new and one of the nicest we'd seen. He's lived at Windsong for over a year now, and we visit often and have had many opportunities to observe the facility, management and the care. While the facility is well-laid out, the Management is mostly concerned with image and money. But fortunately for residents, the actual caregivers are wonderful - though they rarely last more than a few months. There is a high rate of turn-over as caregivers earn little more than minimum wage (I've asked), and are constantly in search of better jobs. So it is difficult for residents (& their families) to form relationships with caregivers. Plus, with approximately 10 residents to every caregiver, they have little time for more than the most basic care. In summation, Windsong is a very expensive, lovely-looking facility with a pleasant "revolving-door" staff that tries hard - but has no time for personalized care - no matter what management promises!

I am just extremely upset about the whole "big business" side of the industry, where they are just charging exorbitant amounts in order to provide the care and medications that my loved one is in need of.

I moved my loved one out of Windsong at Southridge. The food initially was amazing but then the cook left. It was horrible after that. They didn't provide a diabetic diet for my type 1 diabetic father. The housekeeping was a constant issue and multiple times we had to change his bedding. The staff was very pleasant and did the best they could short handed.

Our loved ones needs are not being met and it is becoming detrimental. They are not following through with the promises that were given. We understand every place is understaffed but they are bringing in outside workers who are not trained to handle memory care. It is just like a revolving door. They have increased the pricing three times with no communication to our family .

Things started off great, but as time went on it became plain to see that the people running the place don't care about the residents who live there. The care staff were mostly kind caring people who want to help others, but recently many were driven away by the management. The communication is nonexistent, the pictures they take of or the residents family are fake, and when you make a complaint about manager not doing their job or not caring about the residents, nothing changes. It is easy work and and there is plenty of downtime

As a retired RN, I strongly suggest a well run adult family home instead. My husband's first year went reasonably well until management changed. Caregiver turnovers were abrupt and new ones were being trained by untrained staff. There was no nurse oversight. He was filthy and unshaven when I or family visited. He was not toileted properly as the staff were few for the level of patients. He began to isolate in his room and when I spoke to managers I was basically ignored. He fell 5 times in 10 days and had to be hospitlized. He contacted Covid because staff were untrained in handwashing and proper mask wearing. He went from walking, talking and feeding himself to needing two people to ambulate and eat. I moved him to a safer adult family home with dedicated, well trained staff, all the right equipment, constant RN supervision with 1 to 5 staff to patient ratio.
