Weatherly Inn

I toured here when looking for options. Weatherly Inn is nice and has a real homey feel. The facility is beautiful and the area is very nice. However The ratio of staff to residents is not very good and 90% of the residents are women. I also felt the shared room set up did not afford much privacy to either resident.

The Weatherly was too busy and I couldn't afford to be on waiting list at the time My appointment was interrupted several times. I liked their rooms and balconies, but not for my mom who is afraid of heights (First floor is reserved for memory care).

Weatherly Inn is an okay community. its not good for people who have beyond basic medical needs.

I was not interested in this community. It wasn't really what i was looking for for my loved one. It was kind of small.

It had a nice setting. The rooms were okay - they were very, very small. It was very expensive! It was right next to a busy street so you were hearing cars all the time. They didn't have a lot of room for the clients to drive around. Even though my mom is on a scooter she likes to be outdoors and there wasn't a lot of safe places for that (not much acreage).

My loved one is not doing well at this community. The staff are doing what they can in a difficult situation. The food is good. They offer alarms in the wheelchairs. I do not think the doctor we chose is very vigilant. She was losing weight and I had to ask them to please test her to see why this may be happening and it took eight days to get her the medication she needed. They had some incorrect contact information at the nurses station and I have not gotten a response in regard to correcting this. I am not happy with this community.

Weatherly inn in Renton looks great at first as it is new. Looks are deceiving as the longer my parents were there the more problems we had. At first, my parents liked the facility but over time it got hard to manage their growing health care needs and the complexities of getting care. Weatherly charges for every petty service. They were not monitoring the declining health of my parents. When my mother’s dementia progressed and she stopped drinking and swallowing, we requested a hospice order from the facility’s doctor. Then nursing staff at Weatherly accused family members of refusing to feed her! Then they refused to come to her room to witness that she could not swallow. Instead they made her go to the ER. Swedish hospital staff just laughed when we told them she was sent by an assisted living facility for a hospice order! We left after the hospital ordeal and got them their own home with in-home care. Mother died days after the hospital visit peacefully at home with hospice care.

In the beginning it was 5 stars. When we informed them that she would be leaving. So within that time frame I say about a month her health declined. When we finally picked her up. We have to rush her to the emergency room because her insulin levels was pass 500 which we found out it has been high all week. She was in the hospital for about 4 days before we could bring her home.

It’s a beautiful community. The staff are very kind to the residents.
