The Golden Years

The meals are not good and its cheap, and with the activities we never saw any. However we like the location of Golden Years, it makes for easy visiting and the staff members there are friendly. We do like the attentiveness they give to our loved one and we would definitely recommend them to other families who may need a place for their loved ones.

The community is wonderful. My loved is very happy here. The staff are very good to work the family with any questions or concerns.

I like the care from the staff who have been keeping me informed on her progress. The community is very clean and the care is outstanding for my mom. I have had meals with her and I like knowing that they offer good healthy meals. They do offer her activities for her to participate in with the other residents. I would highly recommend this community for good care and a good value for other families.

I toured this community for my mother's care. This community was clean and the staff was nice. The community would not be able to help with my mom's special needs. Families might appreciate seeing this community for the needs of a loved one.

Contacted this home before coming to you. The staff are friendly and interact with the residents. The house is nice with roomy accommodations and offers a decent back yard to enjoy as well even if to just take a walk in. Each staff member spoke to me and the house was very clean. I also like the location but although you told me there was a room available, there currently is not. I am first on their waiting list.

Met with Elva to tour. Very helpful and informative. Home was clean and staff friendly. This home is associated with several others in the area so am hopeful that they might have the room I am looking for in a few months time if it is still needed. Elva informed me that their facilities have a hospice waiver which means the resident can stay in the facility even if nursing home is recommended. They also have end of life care which means once my loved one is settled I dont have to worry about moving her somewhere else if she begins to require additional care. Very pleased with my tour and pleased with the very helpful and knowledgeable staff.

They are fantastic. No complaints. The only minor issue is that they just need to answer the phone when its rings. Other than that, It has been great all around. The facility is always very clean. Everyone is so nice and friendly. The residents all seem happy and comfortable there. My loved one is well taken care of there. Everything has just been fantastic. The Golden Years is a very nice community.

We were very pleased with the facility. This could very well be a place for Mom. [Name removed] was extremely willing to take the time to talk to us. We sat down and had a great conversation. She not only told us about the facility and walked us through the residence she told us about meals, care and answered all of our medical and physical questions as they popped up during our conversation. We left feeling very good and with a lot of information about medical needs and VA information as well. Shared room opens on [date removed]. We will be looking at one more and then making our decision, once we have taken Mom to visit.

When I toured Shining Light, I thought it was a nice well maintained home. The tour guide that took me around was great, they were able to answer my questions and give me good information. The reason we did not choose it was because my mother earned a larger facility rather than a smaller home. Other than that, this was a nice place.

I toured New Light RCFE before making a choice. It was a nice place, the home was clean and in good shape. The person that took me around was exceptional and gave me good information. Our care giver Val was very nice and patient with my mother while she was staying there. Very understanding and interacted with the family very well

They are very friendly. They had a place available for him when he needed it, and overall we are happy that we chose New Light.

This is a fairly new home, looks to be well run. Director is great. If Mom qualifies we will place her here probably

The only faults I have found is that they are lacking in activities and they don't exercise them. My mother needs to walk with someone, not by herself, and maybe it's lack of time, but they haven't done that so I do it myself when I visit. Other than that, they are very on top of things and the patients never have to wait on someone to help with most things.

We were not happy with the care at this facility. The staff was not trained properly and were unable to perform basic medical care or even the simplest tasks needed to take care of our family member with Alzheimer's. The staff had to be directed by family members and Hospice personnel on how to administer basic medications to our loved one, turning him over in bed, and transferring non ambulatory patients. Basic hygiene of our loved one during his last hours was [Removed]. Communication with staff was incredibly difficult due to the fact they were not able to speak or understand basic English.  The facility appeared to be clean, but the menu was very limited.  We would suggest the management provide more in depth training in how to offer appropriate care for the elderly with all conditions, especially since they are advertising quality care!

We toured this community and we did notfeel like this would be what we would want. We did not like the room that they had. It did not give us a good feeling. the dining room was not organizedThis felt like a hopital with no warm feeling. We ould not recommend this community to other familes
