I love it here

I live here currently with my pets and everything is going very well. The building is fairly new, under 7 years old I believe, the staff is more than easy to communicate with and they’re very proactive. The office staff are the ones that actually prepare the continental breakfast, they come out and interact with the other residents, and just a couple of weeks ago they had a Pilgrim Feast where they served a full turkey dinner with all the sides and an instrumental trio came by for music. They had a girls’ softball team from the area come by and serve the dinner and there was even dancing afterwards, it was a wonderful evening. Everything I’ve asked to have done, they’ve been very gracious and cooperative to do it. I’m extremely happy here and I haven’t met any other resident yet that hasn’t been very friendly and welcoming. The facility is kept very clean and they do offer housekeeping but it’s at an extra charge. However, I’ve been able to use my own house keeper that I’ve had for numerous years. The price I pay per month includes everything like basic TV, internet, an indoor heated pool, sauna, whirlpool, and a number of other amenities. I also have a garage, which they went out of their way to find me, and it’s near the exit to my apartment. That is an additional cost but there’s extra storage in it. My apartment has a patio and is on the first floor so I’m able to come and go as I’d like. There was an offer the facility had where they were able to reserve my room without me having to pay on it while I was trying to sell my home and I thought that was great. They’ve really gone out of their way to bend over backwards for me and help when I need them to. I would recommend them.

The best choice!

The first thing my son said when we heard about the activities they provided "They are going to wear her out!" Mom really loves the card games, dominoes, and bingo. She also enjoys the physical activities, tai chi, and the balance exercises. They have someone who leads the activities and encourages the residents to participate. Included in the price they provide a continental breakfast, it is really more of a social gathering. It is a nice way to get the day started. She loves her apartment and has decorated it to look and feel like her homes always have. My son has visited and enjoyed breakfast with her, they are very welcoming to the families. Out of five the places we toured, this community was the best overall.

We are comfortable!

My husband and I are adjusting well. We are still moving stuff and getting used to the changes. The only meal that is offered is a continental breakfast and that fine. They have a nice variety of activities like exercise programs, games, and they even have an indoor heated pool. Our apartment is comfortable and it has been a good experience so far for us.

Brand New Community!!

The Summit has been a wonderful move for my father. He tells people he's in heaven. The place offers so many activities, they have taken my father to shows. The community offers breakfast, such as fresh fruit cereal, and waffles. They are hoping to expand to serving more meals a day soon. The complex is next to a Walmart, mall, and may other stores which is very convenient for the residents. They provide transportation and cable as well. My father could not be happier at this place.

The Summit at Saratoga is a gem!

The Summit has been a wonderful choice for my parents. They are 79 and 90, but were reluctant to leave their large house and their independence. And although moving to a small apartment and into a community with some rules has been a challenge, they are adjusting well. The Summit is beautiful, clean and tasteful. The staff and residents are friendly and kind without being overbearing. There are loads of activities for those that are interested, but there is no pressure to participate. The Summit provides no healthcare, meals or housekeeping, but you can bring any of that in. My parents have hired cleaners, people to do their errands and chores, and helpers. Healthcare is close at hand, and The Summit has pull cords in each unit that call the local EMTs directly. Each unit is well equipped with older residents in mind. And they have a beautiful pool! I cannot say enough positive things about the place. We are so grateful to have found it.

Outstanding

I like it here a lot. I highly recommend the community to others for their loved ones. This is good for those who are little less active in their life. They have chess, shopping, planned hikes, and more are available for activities for the residents. The only food they have is a continental breakfast that is comprehensive. They have dinner activities that are scheduled.

I definetly would recommned it

They were really awesome with us regarding our loved ones health, they always checked on her and communicated back to us if anything changed. Due to covid they had to delivered to food to their rooms, they would bring food about every other day. They really made sure they had everything they needed. While she was there they didn't have activitues because of covid, but when we took her out they started to slowly bring them back.

Very nice place, friendly people

Overall I think they do a very good job at Meadows at Glenwyck. The facility itself is well kept and clean, and the people are very friendly. The maintenance people get right on top of things if you ever make a request! We love the place, and Mom seems very happy here! The only issue we've had is that sometimes there is nobody at the front desk, which has left visiting relatives stranded outside. If they could get a little better coverage for the front desk things would be perfect!

My Experience

I would recommend Summit at Glenwyck, however there are things advertised on the calendar that really do not occur. They say they like the calendar to be full for new resident tours...kind of false advertisement we say. The buddy system for the pool is listed twice a day....but you have to make sure another resident will go with you...that is your buddy, no staff member is there. Variety of Continental breakfast foods, they are the same everyday except waffles are offered 1 morning....and you better be there early, they can run out of batter way before the breakfast time ends.

Just wasn't a good fit for us

The place was clean and very well maintained. Everyone there was very friendly and welcoming. The thing was that it did not seem like my mother would fit in The different levels and the long hallways it felt more like a big hotel.

One Step Up from an Assisted Living Facility!!

Please stop touting this "Facility" as a 55+ community. I have worked in the geriatric field for about 4 years now. This "Facility" is one "step up" from an Assisted Living Facility. It was a Very Very Expensive Lesson to learn. Do your Homework!!!!!!!!"
