Summerhaven Assisted Living

We have had a very positive experience. The staff has been very helpful. We picked this community due to reputation and immediate availability. We needed a quick placement.

The owner [name removed] was so kind and helpful to us during our tour of the facility; trying to find the best place for Mom was so stressful. However, after she moved in, the entire staff had her best interests at heart and she actually smiled each time one of them entered her room. [name removed], [name removed] and [name removed] met all Mom's needs gently and kindly and made her last months comfortable and peaceful. Mom never appeared scared or upset whenever we visited and during COVID, the staff arranged for video conferences, which was over and above what we expected. We are extremely grateful for Summerfield at Jentilly's; they met Mom's ever-changing needs and communicated with her family in a timely manner throughout her stay.

My Mom has been in the home for over 3 years and she has been really happy with the care, the food and everything else. I just want to thank the owner, the staff and the excellent caregivers for the care and love they gave my Mom. Its the best decision we made, to place her in Summerfield ALH. They became family.

Summerfield is a beautiful assisted living home. It is a small community which makes it like family. The people that work there are very attentive, caring and pleasant. Everyone who lives here seems happy and well taken care of.

I felt at ease as soon as I walked into the home. I was greeted by friendly staff, and toured around. It is a beautiful home and was decorated for the holidays. The first thing done after my brother moved in was to clean him up. The previous 'home' had not done that at all. They have also helped him to gain strength and walk again after his hip surgery (the old place just left him in the wheelchair). They have sent me pictures of him several times already, one showing him standing on his own. The home has niceties like Wi Fi, and cable in his room. The part I like the most right now is that he is happy there- in all of the pictures he is smiling! He tells me they are nice to him there and he likes it. I recommend this property and the owner Maria who has several homes in the area. Such a relief to know my brother is being well cared for. Thanks.

I liked this place from my first visit. It is small and personal - not at all hospital-like. There were several residents who had been there many years. (Interpretted as being well cared for and not having complaints enough to move to a different facility.) Even better the caregivers had been consistent for many years. They seemed caring, and knowledgeable. With so little turnover in residents or staff, it seemed to offer consistency as well as other important things. They shower residents everyday (a rare feature) and they have 3 caregivers on staff at all times. (More than other facilities I toured.) My mom has been there for not quite 2 months and we are still pleased with the facility and its staff.

It's good, everything is fine. They are very nice to everyone, we never have complaints about anyone being rude or unfriendly. I think they do a good job. We don't have any complaints about food, or anything like that.

[name removed] is wonderful, [name removed] is bad, she fought with me and my mom all the time and yells a lot. My mom's room was clean. Nothing was homemade except the Philippine food. Lots of cereal, strudel, eggs, and sausage. I would recommend this facility because of [name removed] and the price.

I toured with Summerfield at Jacinto and it was a fine place, but I just did not think it was the right fit for my loved one. My loved one was a very social person, and I just did not see enough social interaction going on during the tour experience.

Loved one has been there for sometime. Noticed the quality of care has gone down. Help at night seems to be slowing down. Long 15-20 min. waits sometimes for bathroom etc.
