StoneyBrook Suites

So much to say about StoneyBrook Suites. Great staff, and great facilities. Physical therapy on sight. Services for women's hair on sight. There's always something to do at StoneyBrook, with daily activities, as well as off sight trips. Rooms are cleaned, and laundry services for all guest. I gave a high score, but perhaps some change to the meal menu.

I have been gaining weight since moving into StoneyBrook. Look forward to all the meals, but esp the pizza and ice cream meals. My rating on activities is a little lower because I am blind and cannot participate in all activities. Participate in walking club and chair exercises.

Our family feels that Stoneybrook Suites is a very good choice at a great price point.

This transition has been difficult for my mom as she suffers from paranoia but we have found the staff at New Perspectives in Cloquet to be so wonderful! They truly care for my mom and want her to have to best life possible despite this disease that has taken away so much from her. Staff bring in their dogs frequently and there is a resident dog that is there much of the time. My mom loves dogs and that has been so helpful in redirecting and calming her. The Cottages feel like "home" and not an institution.

The way our family and resident were treated was unfair. The administrator was very nice at first, but later became shady and rude, especially if I was requesting written documentation of agreement regarding pricing, etc. She was rude and eager to lay blame at family members when visiting and assisting with transportation to doctor visits when a concern from therapy staff was expressed. Rather than handling in a calm and diplomatic manner, the administrator called me out of the blue and began insulting my family and threatening that my family member would be asked to move out! After that, I was very leery of her and felt she was insincere and untrustworthy. Administrators should be professional and keep their calm, and remember that the customer is always right. This family member paid twice as much to stay there than he would have in another facility in Sioux City and this was the treatment our family received. We also never got a helpful answer or any action taken regarding the complaints about the meals. This family member wouldn't eat anything, except for eggs at breakfast because the food was not desirable. This should have been a concern taken more seriously by the administrator.
