[name removed] and the care team at Preston Hollow Sage Oak are truly angels on earth. It was so difficult finding the right fit for my Dad. We had to move him 3 times due to poor care, staff neglect, and a number of other issues. It was so relieving to find the perfect place where my Dad could live out his remaining days and go peacefully in a place he was comfortable. The Preston Hollow home is architecturally designed and had wide open space for my Dads scooter. He loved the freedom of going outside and admired the stonework, something he and my mom did by hand at their home. I only wish we had found it sooner. I highly recommend [name removed] and his care team.

Making the decision to move mom out of her house was difficult. We knew she couldn't stay on her own but we couldn't afford 24 hr care at the house. Hospice recommended a group home living situation and gave us some names to begin our search. After visits to several homes, I happened to call Sage Oak and talked to [name removed], one of the residence managers. She was friendly, understanding, yet professional and to the point. We arranged a visit and that was when I experienced real hope. The home is in a great neighborhood. It was open, spacious with a well- tended outdoor area and clean. The individual rooms were ordered with individual touches, neat and clean. The residents were up and about and were obviously well cared for. [name removed] introduced me to the staff who were also personable, friendly, courteous, attentive and knowledgeable. They were able to talk to me and keep an eye on the patients while not appearing rushed. This was the place we had been looking for! Mom's experience was a good one and the care givers were were always kind and helpful to her and to us when we came to visit. It was ok for us to be there to visit at any time or to talk on the phone when we or mom wanted to chat. Thanks to everyone (you know who you are) for making mom's last days as good as they were. To anyone else reading this, mom passed away 3 weeks ago after a run of 101 full years. I know how difficult and stressful end-of-days elder care can be for the family. Sage Oak-Aberdeen gave us many reasons to feel good about the decisions we made.

I would recommend Sage Oaks but only if family can visit often and pay for a caregiver to give one on one attention several times a week. I'd also recommend installing cameras In the room and checking daily. I would usually wake up around 1 am every night from stress and would check them and call if necessary.

The house is small and he is very comfortable there. He doesn't like big places. Since there are only 8 residents, the caregivers are aware of their needs in a timely manner. I also like that the meals are prepared by staff in the home's kitchen. Individual needs are met more easily. The house is always clean and the soiled laundry is done every day. [name removed] the house manage is the very best!!

Caregivers are outstanding with an excellent 5:1 ratio in memory care. Everyone is patient and kind. There are shows and games. Do wish they put out a schedule of activities by email since would love spending time enjoying the activities with Dad. Wish they had a van to take residents out to nearby activities.

When the time came to put my loved one, in a home I definitely felt Sage Oak was the best option. I was in frequent contact with management, during the six months that my loved one was there, and they were very receptive to my questions and concerns. The on-site staff work very hard to take care of the residents' needs and definitely care about their well being. I did take comfort in having a camera in my loved ones room so that I could keep an eye on them and advocate for them when needed. When living in one's own home is no longer an option, Sage Oak is a great choice.

The layout of the bathroom was the downfall for us here.

The intent was great, but staffing was challenging. There were 2 staff members that ruined the experience, otherwise it would have been all 5's. If your loved one is capable of assisting in their own care or if they can advocate for themselves, it should be fine. But I would make sure to put video camera in the rooms to be able to look out for your loved ones, and I would do that at any facility.

They are short staffed and can't keep employees. They appear to sedate residents because of the lack of caregivers. My Dad was in a very dangerous situation and we moved him out of Sage Oak as fast as we could. His health was rapidly declining. He is doing MUCH better now, and getting off all those medications. No PRN's.
