Pacifica Senior Living

I visited their facility and their facility was very nice. The people seemed very nice. The rooms and everything were very secure. Everything looked very clean. The only thing I didn't like about the facility is that the building where the residents live is co-ed. Also some of the male residents weren't what I would call elderly. They were in their 40s. I know that dementia and Alzheimer's can affect any age group but I just knew that my dad wouldn't be comfortable with my mom in there. So that was the deterrent and the other was cost. It was actually quite high.

They were very nice, a little further out than what I wanted but the lady I met with was very nice they also offered furniture too

Since my mom did not feel she was ready for a retirement commmunity when she suffered a rality break I could not take care of her safely in my home. Pacifica was not my first choice as it is some distance from me but after I visited Pacifica and toured the legacy unit I thought my mom would do well there and she has. It is a small facility-23 beds with friendly and helpful personnel. The initial transition was a difficult but everyone worked together and she seems pleased and happy. My mother has been diagnosed with dementia, senility and alzheimers and the worse thing about this combination is the loss of knowledge and memory of everyday living. I think the legacy unit at Pacifica works with all concerned to create a safe, clean, friendly environment for people who suffer from these illnesses. If I hadn't been receiving A Place for Mom newsletter I probably wouldn't have found Pacifica so thanks to all who helped my mom and her family for this good result.

We liked this Community, Wyndham Lakes. The staff were friendly, informed and genuine. We especially liked the educational seminar on Aid and Assistance for Veterans. We found the Facilities neat and clean. The Residents seemed active and satisfied. There was a large main dining area and a smaller one in the Assisted Living wing, with a varied menu. We liked the lanscaping and outdoor walkways. The room and board prices seemed reasonable for the Community. However we found the rooms a bit small and dated but in good repair. And the assistance fee a bit high for our needs. We will definely consider this Community in our search for a home.

The apartment that they showed us was less money because it faced the freeway which was fine because my dad has a hearing problem. We didn't go with them because he would have shared a balcony with a woman and my dad has boudary issues. Everything else, I liked about it except for the kitchenette. The refridgerator was much smaller than the one he has now. It was between this and another place.

Too far of a drive from my residence. Nice facility, cat okay.

Toured Tuesday, August 27. Memory care. Very nice dining room. Carports with storage. Smells nice, clean. More active residents; less walkers. Updated rooms. 2bedroom are not near dining area and might be only independent living. Hills and ramps.

I don't think they were able to deal with her memory issues because that's been a progressive thing, she had been there for 3 years and she seemed to decline and he behavior was not consistent. When she would get upset, basically from what I was told, is that they weren't really dealing with it and they didn't seem to know how to deal with it. It was like an upscale, really really nice hotel so appearance wise it was really nice but I think they're more of an independent living place with some assistance but they do have RNs 24 hours a day. We just felt that as she declined it wasn't the best palce for her.

We like the price, the location and the care seems adequate. What we don't like about it is in the past few weeks some of the staff members are not longer working there. We don't know if they've been fired or quit but it's stiking how many of the people that we had relationships with are no longer there. The Executive Director, Medical Director and primary salesman left. My wife had a very good working relationship with the Medical Director and now that she is go we're concerned. I'm satisfied with Atria. I wouldn't discourage someone from moving in there because overall it's been a good experience. We like the facility but we are concerned with the personnel tunover.

We needed a place for our loved one and ended up choosing Pacifica. They are a good community with very helpful and friendly staff. They did a good job with our loved one and we were pleased with what they offered.

One of the problems that my mother-in-law had was that there was supposed to be housekeeping included but they only cleaned her room when she reminded them to but she never said it was dirty or anything. I do think it was a little expensive. She was only there for a short say to recuperate for 6 weeks and we still had to pay the community fee so for the time she stayed there it made it expensive. I think if she stayed longer it would have been about the same cost as other places around. She really liked pinochle and those kinds of games.

My mom's at skilled nursing there which I guess is a seperate wing from assisted living. She's fine there, she gets confused really easily, so it's all that stuff you have to deal with. She tells us about things but we have to call the people to see what's happened or what's going on. The people are great, Oscar's called me numerous times to keep me updated and they've been very helpful so far, no problems. It's only been a week, I haven't gone out and seen it but she's there for rehab after a fall so it's temporary.

The care services are great. I think they're pretty professional and really helpful. They're taking good care of my aunt. There are certain food that she doesn't like but you can choose to get the meal or get something else so that's good. Whatever you want to eat, you can get it. There are activites available but my aunt is kind of a loner. There are times when she will sit in and listen to someone play piano so that's good. I would recommend it. I think it's a good value for what you pay.

We are moving my mother to this facility. Clean, great staff, small memory care wing on the bottom floor. Access to gardens, good food. We hope it is a good match. Close to our home.

We used this for a respite stay and they're very on top of it. The residents are really really happy. There's a lot of interaction instead of people being sequestered in their rooms and separate from everyone. When you first walk in there is a big round table where they play games and talk and read. It's terrific.

So far everything seems to be good. My father is in assisted living there and the care is good. I don't know much about the activities. I saw a calender, but my father wasn't really interested. I can't remember what kind of activites were available. The value is tough because I think it's extremely expensive but I'm kind of cheap. The food is incredible! Over all, they are good people and they've got a good place.

We really did not have a lot to compare it to as this was our first experience but it seemed like everything went good. We liked the atmosphere and feel of the community when we visited it, it was more open and the residents seemed more active then resident at other communities. It worked our really well. The people were really nice and helpful.

My mom is loving it there. She's eating better than she has in years - there's lots of good selection for food. The rooms are beautiful and everthing seems new and nice. The caregivers are around, but my mom is in independent living so I can't really comment on the care services. She's going to exercise classes every day and making friends. There's plenty going on - places to go and things to do. She's busy.
