The most welcoming Assisted Living community

We moved our 88-year-old mother into Brandywine at the Sycamore in September. Out of all the interviews and virtual tours conducted, Brandywine gave us the best first impression. They were the most welcoming, helpful, and informative of the lot. The virtual tour made my mother feel wanted and she could see herself living there at the facility. We had heard it had a good reputation but subsequently discovered that it was the staff that were the true gems. Thanks to the staff's continued interaction and devotion, our mother easily made the transition to the new facility and became part of the Brandywine family in no time. She remarked that it was her new home pretty much from the very beginning of her stay there. She adored all of the staff that she interacted with. She especially loved [names removed], each of whom made it a point to look after her. Although her time at Brandywine was cut short due an early passing, she was among people that truly cared for her.

Thankful for Brandywine at Mahwah

Brandywine at Mahwah has been the godsend to our family. For years we worried about our grandmother on the other end of the country, who rejected our pleas to receive in home help or move to assisted living, despite her having a really difficult and limited life in her home. When she agreed a few years ago that it would be good to try an assisted living facility and decided on Brandywine at Mahwah, she was immediately impressed with the engagement programs and delicious menu options. Having already had years of experience with another close relative in an assisted living facility, I was very hands on, during her years at Brandywine. My grandmother had the best, last 4 years of her life at Brandywine, and we are forever grateful. We are discerning costumers, and I highly recommend Brandywine for your loved one’s care.

Highly recommend

My brother has been in this facility for over two and a half years as a result of memory loss. For the first two years he was in assisted living. During those two years they were so accommodating to his needs, treated him warmth, dignity and respect while allowing him the freedom to live independently yet monitoring him for his safety. Due to illness and memory deterioration he recently was transfer to their memory care unit. They have been marvelous with good care , kindness and patience! The administration and nursing staff have always been approachable and accommodating while working under extraordinary circumstances due to the Covid virus. We are fortunate to have found Brandywine.

Brandywine Living at Litchfield

Transitioning my mother in to a new assisted memory care facility was definitely made easier through the wonderful director of Community Relations, [name removed], who answered all the questions that helped me to select this community for my mother. The process can be daunting, especially in this uncertain pandemic environment, but all my questions about providing a safe facility were answered. Brandywine Living has a team of caring professionals who coordinate socially active programs, including private Face Time meetings to keep in touch with mom and who coordinate with a caring medical team, who are receptive and responsive to monitoring mom's needs and my concerns. Daily menus are sent to my e-mail address and the food sounds delicious.

Heroes Work Here

My Aunt Alma, who just turned 100 years old on [date removed], has happily resided at Brandywine Living at Seaside Pointe (Brandywine) in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, for the past 6 years. Despite the lockdown of the facility due to the pandemic, Brandywine staff hosted a delightful, but small and responsible, birthday celebration for her while wearing face masks, exercising social distancing, and following proper sanitation. This facility’s low incidence of COVID-19 infection amongst its residents and staff is a strong testament to this facility’s conscientious adherence to national health experts’ guidelines on control and containment of the coronavirus. All of the employees at Brandywine (ranging from the on-site nurses, personal care aides, cooks, dining room servers, administrators, business office personnel, activity planners/facilitators, concierge desk workers, van drivers, housekeepers and building maintenance staff) are essential workers and health care heroes in the truest sense of the word. It requires the coordinated efforts of all of these different individuals to operate a well-run assisted living facility, especially when having to cope with the challenges caused by COVID-19. The long-term Executive Director, [name removed], provides hands-on leadership, pitching in to help out staff, when needed. She and other staff have come to know each of the residents by name. The nurses, personal aides, and dining room servers are also knowledgeable about the individual care requirements of residents as well as their likes and dislikes. The concierge staff help to schedule residents’ medical appointments and the van drivers transport them to their appointments on time, which is particularly helpful to those residents in wheelchairs, like my aunt. The activity planners/facilitators help to keep residents’ mentally engaged and provide opportunities for social interaction through creative and entertaining ways. The housekeepers and building maintenance staff ensure that both residents’ rooms and all the common areas of the facility are clean and properly sanitized and that all structural or mechanical aspects of residents rooms (e.g., in the bathrooms or kitchenettes) or in the rest of the facility are in good condition or working order. The overall interior design, furnishings, and seasonal decoration of Brandywine Living at Seaside Pointe makes this facility look warm, homey, and inviting. I am very grateful for the thoughtful and dedicated staff at Brandywine that provide my aunt both high-quality health care and personal assistance with daily living skills, which have enabled her to live safely, comfortably, and with dignity.

Best Assisted Living

My Mother is a resident of Brandywine Living, during Covid-19. I feel she is being extreme well taken care of during this difficult time. The staff is going above and beyond, to keep the residents happy and healthy. I want to thank everyone for their efforts. When I do video Chats , or window visits, my mom is always saying , how friendly everyone is. How she loves her room, and how clean everything is. She loves the food, which I laugh, because at home she didn't eat much. Thank you, again Brandywine Living !! My family and I appreciate all the help and support you gave us during this stressful time.

A model for Person Centered Care!

My Uncle, who recently passed, moved to Brandywine with his spouse, who has also passes, in 2015. Brandywine is blesses by a great group of caregivers who places my Uncle's interests and needs first. They are a model for Person Centered Care. Thank you so much to [name removed], her staff and especially to the many care givers in the memory care support floor.

[name removed] what’s a tremendous counselor to sit with. Took her time, explained many things, showed us all around. And took a great deal of time talking about logistics and financing. The folks we met while walking around were very friendly. The facility was immaculate and we were extremely pleased with the precautions and procedures they have in place regarding COVID-19

Happy and Content

When others hear my mom is in a assisted living they are always intrigued to hear what great care she receives They go by horror stories they hear about but Not at Brandywine governors. Mom has no complaints she enjoys activities meals and friendships she has made The Nurses are always so caring they keep me informed and give me sense of ease with covid not seeing her for months was hard but she was good they kept them safe and entertained they would let us FaceTime when we wanted so the change with Covid was not as critical to mom because of this team we looked at 4 other places but this was the most family like friendly and clean

An Unexpected Happy Place

The community has communicated very well with us and let us know about anything that has come up. It is a small community, but the staff knows our names. In recent days they have allowed us to see our loved one in the courtyard. They make you feel that you are not interrupting them at anytime. They have allowed Face Time or virtual visits to see our loved one, during the lock down.

Staff is very accommodating

My wife is in the memory care unit, she is in the highest level of care. The are very accommodating to each and every resident. My wife participates in bingo in the memory care unit. She really enjoys it. I have eaten there twice and it was excellent, my wife eats there three times a day and she has never complained. This community has bigger rooms for less money, it has a better value then the previous community we looked at. I would certainly recommend this to a family or friend.
