I think about how hard they worked to ensure the best care for her. The room sizes are Excellent! Nice that they include the refrigerator in the room.

They have a beautiful facility with caring staff and administrators. I could not have envisioned having this kind of experience in a long term care facility. The setting lends itself to calmness and a safe...

My father was admitted to Magnolia Senior Living under hospice care, and was there for only two weeks before he died. During this short time, his care was adequate. The hospice team provided adequate care, while the Magnolia staff care was fair. No specific complaints. A couple staff members provided excellent care and attention.

They are very short staffed. Having more staff would greatly improve the cleaning. The memory care staff did not appear to engage with the residents.

The immediate staff is great, upper management has a lot left to be desired. First day they forgot to feed my parents and give my mom her meds, a month later my mom got the flue and it took them 3 days to get her medicine, I had to have hospice send her meds sent to the local Kroger and pick them up myself while upper management couldn’t assume responsibility and upper management called laughing about it. Upper management also talks badly about the hospice service provider. Their food is horrible. If a dementia patient says they don’t want their meds the just say ok and don’t give it to them, they don’t check blood sugar for diabetics. The good is the place is nice and clean and the caregivers on the ground level are caring and understanding.

Magnolia was my mom's choice for an assisted living facility. She had lived in one previously with my dad. After he passed, she moved closer to family and relocated to Magnolia so I have a frame of reference of what to expect. She's been there for a year and her health and well being have severely declined. I had to call the facility to ask them to check up in her once since she was not acting right. They checked her out and said she was fine. Later they found her unresponsive and had her taken to the hospital. The voicemail letting me know what happened was hard to understand and the person kept talking to other people in the background. Don't even think another calling to the main number since they rarely pick up. They also seem unable to handle medications and knowing when to give insulin and take blood sugar relative to when food is eaten. The food itself is awful and with my mom being diabetic there's really few options for her. They keep giving her cake and cookies and she has to remind them she can't have them. Then when her blood sugar is high they blame her for eating bad food. And to top it all off we got a letter letting us know that the owner was delinquent on his loan payment and to send all rent to a lien holder. I wish my mom would move, but she's stubborn and won't move. She plans to stay there until the end, which I really have a hard time accepting.

This place has gone through a lot of severe administration turnover in the last 3 months. So many have quit or gotten fired, it's just been crazy. They're on their 3rd executive director. There's supposed to be 2 activities directors and they are now down to one after losing 4 in the last 3 months. Activities have been basically coloring sheets and pass the balloon. It seems to be improving with the new activities director that's here now, so we'll see. The other staff is mostly nice, but very unorganized. I'm sure that's probably a result of the turnover going on. I heard from a couple of the staff, before they left, that there are legal troubles going on. Communication with the family has not been good. It took a couple of months to get them to start giving dad his medication, which is an issue. That's finally been resolved. Cleanliness is good. Overall, quality of care hasn't been good. My loved one's basic hygiene needs aren't even being met and we're looking at moving him. I would not recommend them to friends and family.

The facility is always clean. Things were ok until they opened a new facility and transferred a lot of the staff to that one, that seems to be when our problems began. The entire first new staff walked out about a month ago. The newest staff seems to be ok, but turnover rate is still high. It seems like the owner got overwhelmed with the new facility and stopped paying as much attention to this one. We have started to see him at the facility occasionally, so we're hoping that some of the problems that have developed will start to be fixed. There are very little activities other than bingo. Laundry has been reduced to once a week. They dropped the Braves channel. It seems most services have diminished, but cost has gone up. Residents are being forced to stay in their rooms more often (Covid and lack of staff). The cooks constantly quit. Food variety has decreased and things like condiments and snacks that used to always be available are missing. I'm having to spend about $75 to $100 every two weeks right now to supplement food/snacks. We really don't want to move our loved one. He is treated well and the place is clean, it's just not what it used to be. I know some of these issues can be attributed to Covid. Hopefully the problems get corrected. As far as recommending this facility, I'm kind of 50/50 right now.

It's clean and the staff is friendly, and they are very attentive. The food is terrible. The people in the kitchen are inexperienced, and I long for a fresh vegetable. I was looking for a place that was near my church, and they assured me that someone would be able to get me to church when I want to go. It just opened so they are still working some things out. There has been some staff turnover. They have suggestion box now.

They don't have enough staff for their Memory Care. Many of the residents need to be fed and there is not enough staff. The staff that they have are good and very caring. In Memory Care, housekeeping is lacking! The meals are good and good quality. Communication has gotten better over the past month. Right now, I would not recommend this facility to others.

Magnolia Assisted Living has all the amenities my loved one needs! She is a conservative person who enjoys classical music which is not offered as entertainment ! She enjoys walking in the courtyard daily and comments on how the grounds are beautifully kept! The staff has managed her medication well! They show her sincere affection in her home!

I looked at this place and found that it is a new facility and it looks nice and it would be a god place to have move into. I realized this community is for people who need help all the time, my mom only needs some help.

The state of GA needs to come and complete inspection. I do not recommend families placing loved ones in this facility.

I toured this facility for my mom and I was shocked at the conditions. The memory care had a strong urine odor. They advertise they have a nurse but no nurse was present. They were short staffed. I was not impressed at all and I advise anyone not to put their family member in this place!

No front desk, minimum staff members. No activity room. Rude administrators. Saw 2 helpers in the whole place. One was sitting in dining room and the other was talking on her phone. Lot of empty rooms was a tell tell sign.

I did not like this community it smelled bad, it had a fence all the way around it in the back. For independent living it was not the right place. If you need memory care and wanted to be safe it may work but with anyone still in their right mind it was not the right place to be. One staff member was trying to do everything and had not been there long. You could tell there was a lot of turn over.

My brother was here and broke his hip because no one helped him to the bathroom. He had prostate problems and was treated rudely because he needed to go often. He died from infections from the hip replacement. My sisters-in-law is in here now and she was found on her toilet where a worker took her to change her depends. She had 2 bones broken in her left leg below the knee. On her right side she had a femur fracture and broken hip. Now her social worker was there and as soon as she screamed the social worker jumped up and she was on the toilet. She is an Alzheimer’s patient and is slow to respond and needs to be told repeatedly until it is understood. It is believed she was slammed down on the toiled and because the cabinet and toilet are so close her left leg was caught twisted and snapped. IF IT WAS MY CHOICE SHE WOULD NOT BE THERE. BUT HER SISTER MAKES THE DECISIONS. MAGNOLIA HIRES THE MOST UNQUALIFIED PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY WORK CHEAP. THE PEOPLE THAT RUN THE PLACES HAVE NO EDUCATION AND WERE CHANGING DEPENDS BEFORE GIVEN THE JOBS. MAGNOLIA SENIOR LIVING IS A DEATH TRAP.
