We recently had to move my mom to a new assisted living facility because she needed an increased level of care and we needed to find something more affordable. She was previously at a very nice aesthetic facility, but was not getting the care she needed and it was costing much more than we could afford. We looked at several new facilities before deciding upon Sierra Oaks assisted living and memory care. This facility has been Great so far. She has been there a little less than a month now and ,although it is not quite as large and her room is much smaller, the care provided seems to be very good and she is adjusting fairly well. There are many activities for the residents to participate in , and they do have transportation, which has been very helpful getting her to and from appointments. The staff and caregivers are very friendly and empathetic. Mom did have to adjust to the more rigid dining schedule and assigned seating but the food seems good. We made the right decision.

Now Sierra Oaks took wonderful care of him. The staff was amazing and they were so involved and took such good care of him. They were wonderful. Am so grateful to them. My Uncle actually passes away in [date removed], but was at Sierra Oaks for over a year. I would give them a 5 all around. They were so good to him and also to myself. The staff was compassionate, caring and treated my Uncle as if they truly cared about him. From [name removed], the caregiver, to [name removed] who took care of meds, to [name removed ]the Nurse and every other caregiver in House #2, I am so grateful...I was there a lot and at all different times and days and never had a problem or concern about the care my Uncle was receiving. It was such a blessing to have found this place...

It had a studio close to the dining room that my sister could easily use her walker or wheelchair. The studio had two windows from which she could hear birds. The facility is homey, has outside gardens, and social activities. It was close to the river park. They thought they could support my sister's medical care as she was on hospice.

Let me make this clear, this is about one department that has one amazing manager [name removed]. She is a person that truly cares about each individual there. Always happy and energetic leading her daily activities with the hope that everyone is enjoying every second of there time that they spend with her. If they could only find more employees with her attitude and spunk this would be a top ranking facility in my opinion.

I was very impressed with the time and care provided at Quail Park. [Name removed] did a wonderful job showing me around, introducing me to staff and meeting patients. The rooms are very spacious. I particularly liked their approach to handling patients and tailoring their care according to their patient needs.

The staff was stellar and very helpful with me and my loved one. They answered all of our questions. The only reason why I did not choose them for my loved one was because the community only has shared showers. My loved one prefers a private bathroom. I would recommend this place to family and friends.

They've been awesome. Mom seems to get along well with staff and they seem to interact with her on a professional but friendly level. Overall, and under the circumstances, it has been a very pleasant relationship

The facility is spotless and the staff is very responsible, respectful, caring. I just adore them all! There really aren't too many activities for the group my mom is in. I think these are the advanced Alzheimer's and dementia patients. It's just that my mom isn't much of a TV watcher. But she mostly sleeps, so I guess there's really not any participating. Maybe reality just hit me at how advanced along these patients are. It's so sad. Such a horrible condition.

The staff are really caring and kind. Always with anyplace, there is room for improvement. But I can't think of anything they could do differently. They are overall very good, and I am happy with my experience with Sierra Oaks.

We have not had a meal there ourselves but when we speak to our loved ones they seem to be pretty happy with the food and dining service. Our loved ones have yet to participate in the activities but from what we can see they seem great. It is a small enough community which makes it feel very personable and it has a very calm environment to it. Based on our experience so far we would recommend this community to other families.

I would tell others to look elsewhere. Everybody says hello, but hardly anybody pays attention. There are a couple of people on the care staff who are outstanding. But the office staff will give you a "Hi" / "Hello," but when you ask them to send you paperwork or invoices, they put it off and put it off. I do like that the monthly fee is all-inclusive. If I need to take my loved one to the doctor, the van is provided at no additional charge. And there's no charge for handing out medication. But that does not make up for an unresponsive staff.

I would recommend you get rid of [Name removed], as she is not helpful and doesn't follow though in a timely manner. There is a doctor that comes to the community, and I asked [Name removed], to check to see if the doctor would see my loved one, and this didn't happen. I had to ask again for [Name removed] to call the doctor to be able to start seeing my loved one in the community. All the other staff have been wonderful to work with. Transportation to doctor appointments, checking on my loved one, taking my loved one to the dining room are some of the things my loved one is getting assistance with. Due to the pandemic, the community isn't offering meals with my loved one. I am able to see my loved one in their room though. Field trips, movie night, bingo, arts and crafts, and more are some of the activities offered by the community for the residents to engage with. I thought they might have more; however, this this might be limited due to the pandemic.

With the time that my Father spent here, I was very pleased with his care. They have a good memory care unit, but they could have done just a little bit more as far as memory activities. Right before my Father moved in, his health declined very rapidly. I was expecting the facility to decline his stay but instead they accommodated him very well. They found him a hospital bed, moved him in, and kept him clean. They did the very best they could under the bad circumstances. He was never left unattended and they got him anything that he wanted. I would recommend this community.

My father gets wonderful care here. He enjoys the activities and likes the food. Sure he would rather be home, but that isn't possible. There have been incidents, but it would be naive to think that this does not happen in every facility. We have had to take my father to the ER, Hospital and some rehab facilities during his stay. The best review I can give is that he always wants to go "home" to Quail Park as soon as possible.

We're going to place my parents here. We were able to get a room on the ground floor. They have a nurse there 24 hours a day so they are equipped and prepared to take care of their medical needs on an ongoing basis.

I am extremely pleased with the outstanding turnaround that has happened at Ocean Park Memory Care. The staff are very engaged in making sure that our loved one receives the best quality care. It's a lively place! On our recent visits, the residents there have all been gathered around participating in life enrichment activities. I hear lots of laughter, and several people have expressed how much they enjoy living there (as much as a person could enjoy living in a "Memory Care")! I've also been seeing their new shuttle bus full of people back and forth up and down Hwy 101 at the beaches, and restaurants. We are so pleased with the positive changes that have taken place. Our Mom has been a resident at OP for several years. We have heard and read a lot of negative reviews, and I can promise you, especially from living in this area, the majority of the reviews, are posted from disgruntled previous employees that were mad when they cleaned house! When you walk in the door, you are greeted by warm friendly, smiling faces that are willing to go above and beyond to assist you. The management has done a complete turnaround (for the positive)! Keep up the great work! You guys are making a positive difference daily! Our hats off to you for doing what you do, and loving your residents as if they were you own family members!

My husband is there because of memory care he needs. He pages extra for medical care of $ [removed]. Besides rent of $ [removed]. a mo. He gets very little medical staff. Meals are OK. Need better low salt diets, more fresh fruit. And daily showers. Over all this needs more medical staff. Thanks [name removed]. [name removed] his my husband who lives there.

The staff there is very friendly and definitely has taken a liking to my loved one, but they are so overworked that a lot of stuff is overlooked. At this point in time, they are very understaffed and mismanaged as far as I can tell .I would like to add if the staff does take good care of my loved one, but I also believe that that's because they know that I'm there a few times a week when it comes to keeping room clean laundry showers kept up it just seems like they come up short.

This community did okay but I felt like it was dirty. The care givers were also not as compassionate as I would have hoped. My mom was with the same set of sheets for around 20 days and they looked terrible. This community was more corporate and just did not have that home feeling. When my loved one moved in the smell of urine was just so strong. I also did not feel like they kept my loved one very clean, they did accommodate for certain things but there were certain things that just did not go well. The room was large and it also had a private bathroom and a nice view out of the window.
