Nice but expensive

Nice new place. Somewhat disorganized. Seems to take telling multiple people the same thing before things are accomplished. Package was shipped to resident. Someone signed for it. Missing package delivery still has not been located. Paying a lot of money. Not sure if there is value other than knowing someone checks in a few times a day.

Friendly and caring

The food could be improved. There is only one actual registered nurse on duty for the entire facility. There are medical techs that give medications. There are some language/communication issues. We had to really push to not use their insurance for medications. But overall, my mother in law loves living there. The place looks like a modern hotel. She has made friends and is happy there. There are just a few things that could be improved.

Highly Recommended

My loved one is currently a resident at The Landing at Alexandria and the overall experience has been good so far. They transitioned to a new management company early on. There were some issues in the beginning, but it is getting better. The meals are very good. The move in process was easy. Communication with the family could improve. Overall, I would highly recommend The Landing at Alexandria to others.

A well appointed facility with a competent staff. As with all food service facilities, they struggle to keep sufficient staff, Te overall staff are positive and strive to provide good service. Recent staff upgrades have resulted in improved services.

Review for The Landing at Alexandria

We picked this community because it allows all the residents to live with dignity. It doesn't look like an assisted living nor memory care. The modern feel makes you feel as though you're living in a hotel. The staff goes out of their way to be friendly and helpful. They treat all residents with respect. There are plenty of activities or clubs to join if you choose. The staff makes all the residents feel seen, and at home.

Great food, not a good fit for higher needs

Two plus years in, it's like any other memory care facility. The hallway and day area smelled of stale food. My aunt needed private care because the level of attention paid to her was inadequate. Her room was not properly cleaned. So, I would not say that The Landings memory care was any better than another facility. The one thing that stands out is restaurant-quality food. The Landings can boast about that amenity where other places have more institutional food. But, if you are putting a loved one who is incapacitated in anyway at The Landings you will not be happy about the care.

Room for improvement

I thought for the money we are paying the quality of care would be better. Maybe the staff can be a little more caring with the people. The patients cannot do things on their own sometimes and mainly the daytime nurse always seem to be annoyed by it. I love [name removed] the nighttime nurse who is very accommodating. Wish they were all like him

Great place for nursing home, not skilled nursing care

My mother was transferred to Legacy Point to receive skilled nursing care. She was unable to walk when she arrived and was a larger person. The facility did not have available a wheelchair that would fit her or a sling that was big enough for her. She was at the facility for over a week before those items were finally obtained. She was in the facility for almost two weeks before we moved her to another facility. The facility had difficulty in managing her medications and in providing care when needed to the bedside. Her face was not washed unless it was requested. The facility is beautiful and does have an excellent assistant director of nursing and social services person. Unfortunately, we experienced a lack of direction and supervision of the night staff which was not a good situation for my mother who needed a lot of care. If your loved one only needs nursing care and it is not a complex case, then this facility is a good choice. Otherwise it would be best to find another place.
