Davis Retirement Home

It is more care than a retirement home and less care than a nursing home. The food is good and served family-style. They have a large communal area with large Television in the building that does not have air conditioning or heat. They offer large fans and lots of blankets. It is cost-effective. They do take good care of the residents. Once a month there is a doctor and a nurse practitioner that see the residents. They have separate wings for Men and Women.

My loved one was here for only six days, but we did not have a good experience there. my loved one ran away from the facility, and it took hours to find them again. The faculty is basically a large room where all the residents are during the day, and there is one door that leads to the outside. During the day, this door is left unlocked. They also never seem to have enough staff members there. I don't feel that the place is secure or well supervised so I cannot recommend it.

This location (one of several) is not a great part of town. Main facility is where I was actually supposed to go. People were nice, but facilities are very cluttered and small. Hallways are barely wide enough for a single wheelchair to make it through, corners and doorways are difficult to navigate in wheelchair. Would be too difficult tight for even a walker or bigger cane. Emergency exit doors are too close to beds (they will not fully open). Would be ok for someone who does not have any mobility issues.
