Everything has been very positive. We have housekeeping for our unit once a week. The main facilities are always clean. The dining facility tables are disinfected after each use. Carpets were cleaned last month, but I don't know how often that is done. The staff is amazing. Everyone has a smile and greets you when you come into the main facility. It's amazing that all the staff knew our names in just a few days. As for Care Services, we are independent living so have no first hand experience. Those that are in assisted living tell us they bring them breakfast to their rooms every morning. There is a nurses station on the third floor for those that need more attention. If you are in a wheelchair, they bring you to the dining room and take you to any of the activities you wish to attend. For the staff, everyone greets you by name and is always friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. You have a choice of protein items; a beef or a chicken or fish entrée. Always with a vegetable and starch. Lunch and dinner are always served with soup and dinner with a salad also. In addition to the set menu items, there is an alternative menu that selections can be made from. They include salads, sandwiches, pan seared fish or chicken and in the evening baked potatoes and pasta dishes. There is always a dessert item, but ice cream is always available. There are sugar free items. The menu is such that you can make healthy choices. A menu for the week is left at your door. The dining facility is open from 8 in the morning till 6 at night. There are no set hours or seating. You come and go as you please. We wear name tags so it is so easy to meet and dine with other residents. There are always activities that the facilities run, but residents also run additional activities. Last night they had, for the first time, senior rumba. These are some of the activities they have: Ice cream socials, bingo, mahjong, cornhole, chair exercises, aqua aerobic, crafts, Rummikub, happy hour, strength and balance exercise, poker, art club, coffee social with friends every Saturday morning (my husband and I have taken this one on). We are next to the Turkey Creek sanctuary, so there are nature walks. We have a new resident who is an author and she has started "Let the memories begin". She takes notes and will eventually present you with a book of your memories. There are more than just these. The facility is very active; both with staff and residents. We have lived in the area since 2000. So we toured multiple facilities. This was the best value. Others were only a one bedroom and cost more. We have a two bedroom with living and dining areas. Our monthly rent includes two meals. Other items: Communication with the family. Since we are independent living I can't comment on a first use basis. What I have seen is first rate. I see family members come and go. Some are having a meal in the dining hall with the resident. I'm a notary, so I have taken on that for the residents. I've dealt with lawyers coming to assist the resident and family members. Maintenance: They even change the light bulbs and hang pictures for you. Gym: Nicely equipped and four days a week with an attendant. I attended our first residents meeting last week. Each of the facility branches was there to present what was happening and answer any questions. Most of the 'functions' have snacks set up (the facility furnishes us with those). Some include include wine. They also present special speakers that come in and talk about different topics. I've seen professors, firemen, zoo and other special presentations. Would I recommend the facility? That is a resounding yes. Some have been here since opening in 2003. There are 10, 15 years. Although mine is only two months, I love this place. The best part is when I hear my husband say how much he likes it!

We picked this community over the other communities due to its price. It offered everything the other communities had but at a much better price.I would say that it is a great place. I would say the move went very smoothly, and that all of the employees were very helpful and kind. I would say the apartment is very comfortable and spotless. I would say everything lived up to our expectations.

I was very impressed with the setup at this community. I have looked at several and usually a one bedroom is a studio. To have an actual one bedroom with a kitchen, living room and porch, I was surprised. Worth a tour at the very least.

We were under a very tight timeline to find a suitable facility for my mother. After visiting numerous facilities within Indian River County, The Promenade was the most engaging, informative, and transparent facility we visited. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and hardworking. This decision is never an easy one for any individual involved, but we have been very content in our decision for mom and our family.

After 24 years of living in my residence in Vero this was a very significant and scary transition for me at my age of 86. I am sure I am not the only that feels the same way initially. It was quite a significant adjustment to make this transition. That said, the staff at the Promenade have been nothing short of extraordinary from the administrative side in dealing with the paperwork and my insurance company to the daily health and wellness of so many wonderful people that tend to my needs all at a press of a button. One can always tell when someone is working because they have to work or that they really enjoy doing what they do and that is the case here. It is a very loving community of staff and residents. Of course having the comforts of home was on my mind but realizing that is no longer a safe or sustainable option I feel very blessed to have found a place I can call a home away from home. I am very grateful to the patient staff who are helping me make it through this transition.
