Although my mom is still adjusting I know in my heart that she is where she should be. Her biggest complaint is that she has to ask for any over the counter medicine she wants to take, ( ie: aleve, etc) it's not allowed in the residents apartments. Everyone has been very friendly and attentive. I know she is getting 3 healthy and tasty meals a day. When we were out shopping the other day and I called to tell them she would not make it back for lunch, they put her meal in her room so she wouldn't miss it. I give The Huntingdon at Homestead Village a ??

We really liked it! It was very nice the lady who runs it was super nice. It was all one level. What we didn't really like as much was the location, it was kind of secluded, not really close to stores and things.

We use the independent senior living, and it would be nice to see more presence of the staff, and more open communication with the residents and to see them build more of a relationship with the residents. There are activities but not much urging or presence of the staff. We did have some holiday meals there, they were good. The outdoor living was a huge component, the others we saw were more institutional and dorm like. The town is great and it is in such a great location. They have front porches and courtyards, and they are willing to let people do as they please and change things in their rooms and they have a garden area too.

I really liked all of the people that I met on our tour of Live Oak Village. The facility itself was a little older and the location was further from my children.

We've had Mom in three different assisted living facilities. Never believe the sales person.

I would tell others looking into Haven Memory Care that if your loved one or patient is a fall risk, they will ask them to leave. Even when we had already told them he was a risk before moving in. Moving my loved one twice was not good for us or for him.

Most of the staff is very friendly, but there are a few that are very unresponsive. The touted "cleaning" is a joke. My loved one has been there 3 months and her bathroom has not been cleaned by the staff once. And maintenance has a "we will get to it when we get to it" policy.

The facility primary administrator was great. Some of the assisted living staff were attentive and caring. We did not feel the administration at this section was particularly concerned about the residents nor very helpful in resolving resident problems. The rooms and dining areas were nice.

Upon arrival, we were informed that the tour guide went out of town and did not leave any indication that a tour had been scheduled. We were denied access to the independent building because there was no one to escort us. The office attendant did call the assisted living facility and they were kind enough to give us a tour even though their tour guide was unavailable. My uncle did not like the Huntingdon facility 'too boring' and I had to convince him to keep an open mind about the independent living option at HV. I was very disappointed because I feel that he would be most happy at HV but he will not be able to visit it before he leaves (Sunday) and he needs to make a decision quickly. I will rescedule and visit myself asap and send him pictures etc.

Many promises of good care, however, did not deliver. My relative fell so many times in the first weeks. When contacting the nursing staff there was no answer of the phone. Trying to find out about a loved one will be frustrating. I heard that agency staff was there, but, didn't realize that the care would be so negatively affected by those workers. This facility has serious staffing issues.

Much was promised, not delivered. First of all, housekeeping was supposed to clean mom's place every other week. I saw zero evidence of that. The food was passable, but having to call for every single meal and sit through a two minute instructional on how to order was ridiculous. The promised activities never materialized. We were told that mom would be paired up with a buddy who had been there a while to show her around and go with her to activities. That never happened. We were told there was transportation to Dr appts, but could never get a real person to talk to and arrange it. The activity calendar is full, but most of them are for the assisted living, not the independent living. The ones that are for independent living occur in different buildings and it is hard to tell where to go or sign up. The activities director never returned my phone calls until I complained to the facility director. Then she was very rude to me. The maintenance man was also less than patient with my mom. I can't speak to the assisted living, but if you are in the independent living you might as well rent an apt for half the price bc you are truly on your own.

I can’t rate this home low enough. My father lived there for a about a year. Recently he began having mobility issues, more severe memory issues, and some behavioral issues due to his Dementia. As expected he was getting worse. They decided he was uncontrollable and sent him to a psychiatric hospital where he was diagnosed with a UTI. As one knows, that can be devastating to a Dementia patient. While he was in the South Baldwin Psych ward, The Haven sent a letter telling us he couldn’t come back. This is the kind of care you will experience there. When the disease progresses, they will dump your loved one. The report they generate will then make it very difficult to place you loved one anywhere else.

This facility is absolutely horrible!! Everytime you call or visit the staff has changed due to someone being fired or quitting. They will not keep you informed about your loved one and quite frankly, act as if they could care less about any concerns you may have. Do your homework when choosing a facility. No wonder they have 17 empty rooms. If I could give this place 0 stars I would!!!!!
