Colonial Manor

Although our father’s stay at Colonial Manor was short, we believe he was genuinely cared for and respected in his final weeks. The staff was kind, respectful, and made him feel welcome. We were also pleased to learn about the many activities he could participate in and only wish he agreed to join them sooner. Many thanks to Colonial Manor!

It is such a relief knowing my dad is being well cared for and that there is someone looking out for him at all times. Price was all-inclusive. At the other facilities, so many things were additional costs(cable, laundry, giving medication, helping to dress/shower, etc). Two of the facilities that I toured were more than double the cost with all of the "extras." I would recommend Colonial Manor. I have had wonderful interactions with the staff. Especially the nurses. They know my dad and call me by name. They are incredibly approachable and call whenever they have any concerns. They are kind but firm with my dad which what my dad needs. I have dropped by all different times of day and days of the week and my dad is always clean and well groomed and his room is spotless.

Colonial Manor is a great place and great environment. The staff is great and very helpful. Very respectful and caring to the residents and families. I am pleased to have my grandmother staying under their care.

As a daughter who is very involved with my senior father's care, I could not have found a better suited retirement living place for him than Colonial Manor at Panther Valley for his independent living. This facility is excellent on all levels! The management and maintenance personnel are very responsive to requests for assistance, and everyone from the staff that me and my father have interacted with has always been so helpful and compassionate to him. I can truly say that I am very satisfied with the choice of Colonial Manor for my father's retirement living and seeing how he feels comfortable and secure living there each day makes my entire family know our Dad is in great hands with the Colonial Manor team. It is also nice to know that there are social services available to him should he want to spend time chatting with other residents and listening to music. Colonial Manor at Panther Valley continues to have a positive impact on my father's quality of life, we are so grateful!

My Mom, age 92 at her passing, was a resident for over 5 years at Colonial Manor at Panther Valley. It is the closest to "home" as you can find. Family owned and operated, they take great pride in their work and environment. The Staff are all incredible and they truly love their residents. In no time they become extended family. My mother-in-law was also a resident for 2 years just recently and we had the same experience. All meals are freshly prepared and nutritious, accommodating all dietary needs. The fees are very reasonable in this climate of very high non-affordable senior health care options. Pleasantly located in rural Allamuchy, with many amenities/shopping nearby. They also provide transportation to local doctors and shopping. Our family was very happy we found a wonderful place for our Moms to be cared for and kept safe in their later years. Highly recommend!

I worried that transitioning my dad from our home to an assisted living home would but a challenge but the staff at Colonial Manor couldn’t have been better. Their warm welcome quickly helped my dad feel at home as well as part of a community. I see that my dad is well cared for and he feels safe. I love that he’s participating in a variety of activities and once again has a place to call his own.

The Colonial Manor at Panther Valley’s environment is conducive to a quaint, warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff is kind and pleasant and always helpful to my dad when he needs it. The room is fresh and clean and is always kept tidy. We were able to make his room comfortable and homey for him. The laundry and linens are washed and put away weekly. He is being taken care of and given the supports he needs keeping him safe, while also allowing his independence. When I have questions, Nicole has always been quick to respond and always helpful.

Mom started out in independent living, needed more care so an easy transition into assisted living main building took place. There as well she receives 24 hour care she needs for being in her upper 90's. The nurses and nurses aides are overall angels. What we love most about the facility, is that all staff are updated and involved in any department of the job. Asking the front desk update on mom always coincides with nursing / aides. Having the same staff for over 10 years proves the true character of the facility as a whole. Being family owned and operated makes it more of a home and not an institution. The managers are hands on, available and driven to give their residents the best life they can. Having a facility dr, pt, podiatrist, nurses, 24 hour care and memory care all in one place gives us piece knowing the experience and resources are available as needed. Rehab was executed for mom at colonial manor pv and she was walking again after 2 months from hip replacement. We are happy

We can’t say enough great things about this fantastic facility!! We have our grandma there, she has been staying for several years and it is such a great place for her to be! Lots of great staff who deeply care for the residents and so many fun activities for the residents to do! It is a great place to stay and highly recommend to anyone local who has a loved one who needs care!

[name removed] and [name removed] are wonderful! As are their staff. They are so caring and passionate about their facility and its residents. They helped us with every step of the admission process and the care and accommodations are wonderful.

My mother-in-law lost her husband of 70 years; an Essex county native, she was alone in her Cedar Grove condo. An hour from us & us helping her with numerous tasks, we convinced mom to move to an independent living cottage at Colonial Manor, mid 2018. Once here, mom found life at Colonial Manor to be inviting, comforting, enjoyable, secure & most of all, happy to be near her son Larry & me her daughter-in-law in Warren County. Moms cottage was perfect for her with additional included amenities: weekly housekeeping, access to outside walking & main bldg activities, she settled into her new home. With pre-existing health issues, mom fell in her cottage, thus necessitating a move into the main building assisted care facility, Dec 2020. The assisted care provides mom everything she needs; medication mgmnt via RNs, daily aide help with dressing/showering, PT, 3 daily meals, housekeeping, laundry, daily activities, mthly dr, mass. After the unexpected passing of my mother-in-law my wife and I became the caretakers for my Father-in-law. For 10 months he lived with us and was not thriving. All he wanted to do was sleep and was emotionally not happy. We decided to move him to Colonial Manor at Panther Valley. This assisted living facility is a Hidden Gem. My father-in-law is thriving!! His accommodations are beautiful with his private room and bath, room is cleaned weekly as well as his laundry. The residents are friendly and the staff are wonderful and attentive to the needs of the residents. Thank you [name removed], [name removed] and staff for treating our family member like your own.

The activities calendar is nicely organized with plenty of everyday elder activities for them to participate in. In the tour, she (nic pretty young woman married to co owner son )first impression and overall personality is what drove us towards our decision as she spoke so eloquently when describing the facility especially its importance in geriatric care and level of in depth explanation of residents plans for caring for patients, managers compassion and love to not just the residents but also the staffing as she praises them and their hard work crediting each individual person and position. The pricing of this facility does not justify the amount of hard work and honest dedication the staff as a whole has done and continues to do, it truly is more about the patients and the love they have for them rather than the cost. It is as if colonial manor at Panther valley is a hidden gem and I love that my mom will always be safe, loved and respected through her last section of life.

Colonial Manor at Panther Valley is a piece of heaven on earth. Reading some inaccurate reviews brings me to this true and honest review in which this facility deserves. It has been my mother’s home for the last few years and I am extremely grateful for the care and kindness this facility has provided. With my mother being in her 90’s she needs constant assistance and the staff has been nothing but amazing. With 24 hour care I can rest easy knowing my mom is in the best place she could possibly be. With moms emergency calls at 2am or 3pm the staff is there giving it their all. management is professional with constant communication within our family. [name removed] and [name removed] make a great management team, the nurses and aides truly look up to them. The kitchen is able to adhere to different dietary needs for diabetics or in my mom’s case different texture. The activities calendar is nicely organized with plenty of everyday elder activities for them to participate in.

5 for all. Colonial Manor Hackettstown is a great place that is clean and has friendly staff members. They also have great food and we would absolutely recommend this community to other families who may need a place for their loved ones

They were beyond wonderful. It was more like a bed & breakfast. Very personal attention given. They were kind & very caring when mom went into hospice and were with het around the clock when we couldn't be there.

Great staff. The owners were wonderful to work with. The place was clean and the surroundings were very nice. I would recommend 100%.

Wonderful facility overall. They have gained a lot of experience with higher quality medical care and it shows. Honestly I believe it’s due to the fact that the manager understands how to do the tours, explain and sell the rooms, and move new residents in.. and keeps up with each individual resident. We are so thankful to have found colonial manor at panther valley years ago from a close friend who has been an overly content client for years. The joy in the managers heart to care for the residents is so satisfying to witness. With such a positive attitude and hard work, this facility is truly one of a kind. The manager gave us a magnificent tour years ago and has kept her word each waking day since. The nurse aides work so hard and diligent. We are beyond grateful for her and her staff. We recommend panther valley to our friends, work colleagues, families and more everyday. We find joy in all things of this facility. Dad loves it, he is very very well cared for, clean, safe, and distracted. Plenty of activities to do everyday. Independent living and transitioned into the assisted and still living here years later, with the help of her and her husband we found our father his forever home. Managers are always there, they are always on top of not just their residents, but the families as well. Easy communication with nicole, promised care, continued care, clean safe and busy environment for the elders- are just a few reasons why we chose colonial and will choose colonial over and over again.
