Agape Heritage Home

Agape was the first place we visited when looking for a place for our mother. We are very happy with the homey atmosphere.

This is my first experience with placing someone in a home. My Aunt suffers from Alzheimers/dementia & went directly from hospital to Agape Heritage Home because she could no longer live alone. I had visited Agape Heritage Home the day before she was discharged from the hospital & actually was desperate but the home has proven to be a god-send. So far, I am very pleased with this facility. My aunt has been there for a month and I have visited at different times of the day and evening and the manager & staff are very nice and caring. The home has always been clean. The staff get the patients up every day to have meals together and watch television in the den together which I believe gives them a sense of family and provides a home-like atmosphere. The patients are always clean and the only odors that I have smelled have been from food coooking. The manager has been very "hands-on" in the care of the patients and their well-being. He knows when to involve the family & I feel that he knows what's best for his patients and his staff. I feel a sense of relief knowing my Aunt is being well cared for.

The service and care my Aunt is receiving at Agape Heritage Home is exceptional. We are very pleased with the warm and loving staff. The assistance I have received is superb. The manager is very helpful and knowledgeable. We are very appreciative of the display of kindness that is shown to my family.

When i first got to visit this community i didn't have an actual tour guide but i liked that a staff member showed me all around the community. I got to see some interaction between staff and residents. I liked the way the residents reacted when they engaged in activities. Now that my father lives here i really like the way they communicate with us. The staff keep my father active, it has been a good experience for all of us.

My concern was the lack of trained medical personnel and the staff being able to handle my loved one's medical situation. However, the PCA's are wonderful. They do well with the PEG tube, care and maintenance and also with the indwelling catheter. The home health RN has visited and the PA for the MD has also visited. Being a medical professional, I expect a certain level of care and I am happy to say that the Agape Heritage Home is meeting my expectations. Plus, the ladies, (PCAs) taking care of my sibling are absolutely wonderful, caring people and they truly are concerned about her well being, comfort and progress.

The people are very friendly and attentive towards the residents that live in the community. There is a really good routine established in caring for the residents. They have even been able to get my loved one to eat on a consistent basis. The community will fix whatever my loved on wants and whenever they want to eat, and this has been very good for my loved one. I believe there are only seven residents in the community currently.

When we first came to visit the Agape Heritage Home, the care takers were all engaged with the residents. Everyone seemed very content and the place looked to be very clean. It was a really nice first impression.

We chose Agape Heritage Home because we had to make a quick decision and when visiting for my tour, I really liked the overall feel of this house. I would recommend them to others looking.

I went on a tour here and the staff was nice and helpful. They answered all of my questions. This was a nice, clean community. We were looking for a private room and all they had were semi-private rooms. So it just wasn't a good fit for my mom. I would recommend families tour as many places as they can before making a decision.

Looking back I don't think this place was the best fit for my wife. She needed much more medical care than what they were prepared to offer and I don't think the staff at first completely understood the intense care she required. After talking to the administration things got a little better.

The Agape Heritage Home was a blessing for us. It gave my father more individualized attention than any nursing facility or memory care unit could. They were able to handle his agressive behaviors which decreased with the additional attention. They were able keep him safe and comfortable in a home-like atmosphere. I also appreciated that they are Alzheimer certified and at his home have a maximum capacity of 8 residents. (Richmond home)

Only shared room available at this location, BUT he is opening a new home and is ready for his first resident. Plenty of room choices there! Home is beautiful. Location is not great for me, however. One positive: once a care level & price is decided, your rate never goes up.

I toured here as I was looking into options. It was very nice and a small place. I would rate the cleanliness and the friendliness right up there, though for value they are about average.

The rooms were really great and clean. the atmosphere is very wonderful and caring. The staff is great and the food isnt to bad.

It is working out pretty well, in comparison to some of the other places we've been it's a good place. One worker, Celine, is great, she kind of keeps the whole place running and give really great care.

House lacks activities for the residence. Some days the house could smell better. Staff is overall caring but their hard accents can be difficult to understand. They do take care of the patients but sometimes they are short staffed. Meals are home cooked but it takes time for patients to get use to the flavor. TV is the only activity residents have. Cost is fair but the items I mentioned should be improved

The staff seems willing to work without complaint. I would recommend to others. My experience was good. We picked this community, because of the closeness to residence, cleanliness, and home environment.
